BOWP - How many of you have applied and received it successfully?

I applied for my BOWP on Sep 10th and still waiting for news from CIC. I am seeing people receiving BOWP yesterday who applied on sep 10th.
Called CIC and they replied that they are processing only Sep 6th applications still(as in the CIC website). Not sure whats happening.

Any comments ?

Your application depends on luck and on the officer. Sometimes you have a very picky officer, sometimes some officers are very quick and efficient. I would only worry if it has been like 2 weeks after the processing dates mentioned on CIC website before calling. An email confirmation sent by them is cool, but what really matter is the official document if you are in a hurry. I submitted mine in the 10th and got confirmation of acceptance yesterday, but who knows when it is going to arrive at home. Officially they say....wait 4 weeks before calling them!....but hell no that's too long, I will call them 2 weeks from now if I haven't received the paper yet.

You applied with AOR or without AOR. And Please let us know if you receive BOWP. I applied on 3rd Oct waiting for it. I already have offer with other employer but waiting for it to change job. At present I am on closed work permit

hi experts. need advice.

I applied for BOWP on sep 10th. Mean while my current employer also filled my extension on Oct 8th.
Now my BOWP has been approved.
1. Should I call the CIC and ask them to cancel the second application.
2. Will the CIC refund the money of the second application
3. What will happen if the second ext is rejected even though my bowp has been appoved.

I received my copies last Friday, in Alberta. The UCI on my permit is the same, no change. But I know a friend whose UCI was changed, apparently, they misaligned his application with another UCI and they were unable to track it. Not sure if that was the case with you too. He applied for closed however.

Even my UCI had changed on new WP and when I enquired with CIC ..they said its nothing to worry.

If you want confirmation call CIC and ask them.

I agree nick_ink! give them a call 'cause when we received mine and my dependent's, our UCI's are still the same.

Oh man I'm so fortunate....I applied on Sept 10th....online is so much faster!

Hi I have no idea why you couldn't submit online. I submitted mine on Sept 25th and got a confirmation that I submitted scucessfully and I can check online no problem.

You should recreate a new id and try again...I believe the online system is working.

Did you apply online? If so, you should be able to see the status in your MyCIC account. If you applied in paper, then there is no way to know the status of your application. BOWP is processed separately from your permanent residency application so ECAS is not applicable.

As long as your application has reached CIC before your permit expires, you will be on implied status i.e. you are entitled to work on the conditions laid down in your expiring work permit until you hear back.

I applied with seven days pending on my permit earlier this year, and I got the BOWP successfully while continuing to work. You're good!

I got my BOWP hardcopy yesterday October 21st.

I submitted online on September 10th (got email approval on October 17th)

Total days: 41

p.s.: My UCI (client) number stayed the same...all other numbers changed.

Hello,Guys, I'm new here, My BF submitted his BOWP on Sep 6th with receiving the confirmation mail, But so far there's no respone from CIC, Here's his situation:

P.R application Received on December 14,2012,File Number Received at the end of January 2013, He has left Canada for 8 month and came back on August 2013,then he renewed his WP as the original one will be expired on Oct 27 2013 with NO JOB OFFER .But Currently he has a new job.

Since he has out of Canada for 6 months above, when he do the questionnaire it ask him to do a medical test then he do it right away, If he is lucky, he maybe skip ME as CIC should already have the medical result on his file.

My question is as my observation on this forum, So many ppl after Spet 6th has already received their new work permit,even the hard copy one, I dont know what cause it stuck there, Can some one help?

Also, his OHIP will expire along with his old work permit, but he just got a call from the doctor that he's appionment has been scheduled right after his work permit expired......So he need his new work permit to renew his OHIP ASAP, Can someone help us?
