You may convince them to give you a BOWP with more than four months remaining. What's important is that the BOWP is not a means for changing out of a job you don't like. It's intended for PR applicants whose status is about to run out, and therefore would lose the ability to support themselves financially whilst their PR application is pending.

For the third time, all the answers to your questions are in this thread - take the time to read it through and do some research. There is another thread too that will help - searching for BOWP topic will bring it up

LPS answered your question about expiry

I received BOWP approval emails today morning for me & my Wife. Below are the timelines:

Submitted on : August 30th.
Approved on: October 7th (38 days for Approval)
Valid until: October 7th, 2014

Submitted with below additional details:

1. Two separate Covering letters for me & my wife with
a. AOR
b. Current WP for me, Temporary Resident Permit for wife

I did not attach my Offer Letter & selected 'Work Permit for new Employer'. Entered other details as per this thread:

Hi folks,

for BOWP also, as like PR the processing timeliness seems to be varying for different applicants. Its not first in first serve looks like. For some who applied on Sept 4th got the approval mail sometime back. I applied Aug 27th and i got the approval mail today. It took exactly 41 days for me to get the approval email. I am relieved now.

all the best for those waiting.
