BOWP - How many of you have applied and received it successfully?

HI There,

Really important question- Where do i send my paper based application for BOWP? I haven't received my AOR yet but i have to mail it out before my PGWP expires... Can someone tell me where i send it to from the following 2 addresses:

Hi, the paper based (mail) application for BOWP takes about 50-60 days right now.

Hi Palu, Thanks for sharing your experience.

I am preparing the docs to bowp and apply online. I have a two questions.

1. Is the Schedul1 document a mandatory one for BOWP? in my application it is shown as optional. I thought,we used to fill schedule 1 while apply / extend TRV.

2. Final one in your document list - Explaination Letter + AOR Letter + Valid WP + Additional Sheet about Employment togather as one PDf
i mentioned the current job offer as NO and employement details as Not applicable, should i still attach any information about employment?

[Pal2014]: You have filled it correctly. I had attached additional sheet about my prior employment history because space on form 5710E was not sufficient.

All the dependent documents are filled by you only.Should we take signature of spouse after filling IMM5710E.

Taking spouse signature is not required as you are filling form IMM5713E. I just filled spouse name in the signature field.

First of all, thank you all for your help !!! You are doing very good job. Helping many unknown guys including me.

I have been reading post on this form and submitted my CEC application on May 23rd, 2014. Received AOR on July 8th, 2014. Submitted BOWP application online on July 28th, 2014. Checked application status today (August 11th) and found that application is approved. It took only 15 days though CIC website says 24 days. Now waiting for hard copy of the BOWP and VR for kids. Wanted to update my experience with BOWP, it might help some of you.

Principle Applicant (me) - Documents provided for BOWP:
(1.) IMM5710E - Main Application. Answers to 2a & 2b - Not Applicable - BOWP. Q3 thru Q7 - Blank.
(2.) Passport Copy except blank pages.
(3.) Marriage Certificate
(4.) IMM 5713E - Use of Family Member Rep Form
(5.) My Photo
(6.) IMM5257B - Schedule 1
(7.) Explaination Letter + AOR Letter + Valid WP + Additional Sheet about Employment togather as one PDf

Spouse Application for BOWP - Documents submitted:
(1.) IMM5710E - Main Application. Answers to 2a & 2b - Not Applicable - BOWP. Q3 thru Q7 - Blank.
(2.) Passport Copy except blank pages.
(3.) Medical Proof. It was about to expire in September 2014
(4.) IMM5257B - Schedule 1
(5.) Same Explaination Letter + AOR Letter + Valid WP togather as one PDf

Child - Visiting Record Extension
(1.) IMM5708E - Main Application
(2.) Passport Copy except blank pages.
(3.) IMM5257B - Schedule 1
(4.) Same Explaination Letter + AOR Letter + Valid WP togather as one PDf

My wife was on Visitor Visa earlier and now submitted for BOWP togather. I didn't provide photos for spouse and child because I could not find place to upload online but explained it in the explaination letter that I can provide in email if needed. They didn't ask for any photo. Both BOWPs and child Visitor extension approved for one year.

I just want to share my experience guys. I have used information provided on this form and it works fine. Good luck to all who have applied and Congrats to all who have received.

Applied Aug 4 online for me (bowp) and my husband (sowp), just got email that both were approved.

It took them 10 days, they work very very fast!

I applied Aug 06 and havent received BOWP approval yet in my CIC account.
I received a message in my personal email that my application has been updated last Aug14, but when I checked my CIC account, there is no message yet. My current WP will expire Dec 06 and my employer right now is asking for my new WP. I am so worried already.

I applied for my BOWP online on Aug6 but still no update yet if its approved or no.

First of all, I would like to inform you guys that BOWP for my husband, OWP for me and TRV (study permit 18 years old child) were approved today but OWP for son (22 years old) denied. We applied for him before (2012) under the Alberta Pilot Program of OWP for age dependent child 18 to 22 years old. According to the refusal letter for my son that he is not eligible to apply for OWP anymore since the Pilot Program already closed. We thought that all dependent (spouse, children) are all entitled to apply for extension of stay either OWP or SP since we have PR application (since June 6, 2013) and just waiting for the PPR. All of our work permits and my daughter study permit were the same as expiry date of my husband Work Permit since he is the principal applicant (Sept 12, 2014).

We applied for BOWP, OWP, SP Aug 8, 2014 and we received the approval by email this afternoon Aug 20 but for my son it was not granted.

My question is what should we apply for my son so he can stay (legally)in Canada while waiting for our PR? or should he needs to go back home in Philippines and wait for the PR? My son is currently working now as Cash Assistant Manager in Shopper, after Sept 12, 2014 it means he can no longer work anymore? Please help me guys....

The key statement is in bold. You applied under a program that no longer exists.

I'm wondering if your 22 year old son would even be considered a dependant anymore? Rules on this subject recently changed...

Just a heads up for everyone, Applied for BOWP on Aug 14, approved today, Aug 21. Applied for both me and my partner. My current work permit expired on the 19th.
