BOWP - How many of you have applied and received it successfully?

I applied on 3rd March. A day after my application I received first email and then I think in 4 days one more. Third one came on the day of approval i.e. 19th March. All the emails stated that my application was updated.

It took 16 days for approval.. Will you get hard copy as well?

Online application on March 8, 2014
Approved on March 20, 2014

Just a total of 12 days including weekends..

Waiting to receive the work permit early next week

Did all three emails arrive on the same day? I received mine this morning at 8.30am and no emails since - status on CIC website has not changed either (everything still shows as no docs requested, no decision made, etc).

same thing here !! i applied on March 13... well i got the 3rd email today however when i checked there was no change !!

Hi Experts,

I currently have a CEC-PR Application under process and I have received an AOR number. My wife works in Canada on Closed WP and I am currently working on SOWP. For the PR application, I am the primary applicant.

My questions are -

1. Can we both (me and my wife) apply for BOWP once our WP is expiring within 4 months? My concern is my AOR does not have my wife's name listed in the email. Will it cause any issue in BOWP for her?

2. Our WP is expiring in Nov-2014. If my wife resigns from her current job today, will she be eligible for BOWP right away as she can not work for any other employer with the closed work permit.

Any help is appreciated.

I noticed that on my BOWP the following remarks are there:

APR pending
BVA/OSC

any idea what is BVA/OSC?

APR pending is explained on the operational bulletin as the coode to ensure eligibility for continued health care coverage by the province or territory

Is there any way of checking the status of the application (paper application), or am I only gonna receive it in the mail after 40 days? I see everybody posting status but I'm assuming it's only for online application.

Hi,
Once again, only the principal applicant can apply for BOWP, but you can apply for an open work permit for your spouse! Read the bulletin and you'll find these answers...

And yes, you can apply if your wp expiry date is within 4 months. You'll get a BOWP and she will get an Open Work Permit. The AOR will not list who is in your app, so do not worry, just go ahead and apply for it.
