Hi Everyone,

I got ITA through EE just yesterday but my work permit is going to expire on feb end. I have question that whether still i am eligle to apply bowp with the invitation got it from CIC or not?

All your response is much appreciated and hope it will help others as well who arein same situation..

Thanks :) :) :) :)

Don't think so ! You must submit apllication with all the required documents first.

no you still need to get an AOR after submitting all your docs before you can apply for a bowp

Assume nothing has changed from before EE, you will need AOR to be eligible for BOWP. Meaning start gathering documents and apply ASAP. I assume AOR under EE will be much quicker than before (was it 4+ months?).

From what the CIC agent told me about this this morning:
The eligibility parameters for a BOWP are still the same as before Express Entry.
As to when you can apply for one, of course you must have already submitted your PR application to CIC AND still you need to receive the Confirmation or Acknowledgement of Receipt.
However, the agent was not sure yet how long it will take to get that AOR. Of course it shouldn't be the 2+ months it was before but again she isn't sure. What she suggested is that any applicant who qualifies for a BOWP save for the AOR should call CIC and inquire if they should go ahead and send the BOWP application. Of course, like before, they prefer and can only advise that applicants apply for a BOWP by mail on paper and not online. Currently the processing time for that is 76 days meaning by the time Vegreville opens up that application for a BOWP, surely your PR application has been acknowledged and possibly even in processing making me assume that your BOWP would be approved no problem.

Yes. You can. You gotta need AOR then which is same as before. I read getting AOR does not take long. Good luck!

"I read getting AOR does not take long".

Well, you have sense of humor, that's for sure. 4+ months to get it. (Unless EE applicants are getting it faster, and if so, good for them !! )

It will almost certainly be much faster under Express Entry - the whole PR process should be completed within 6 months reportedly.

It's worth noting that the AOR time varied enormously under the previous CEC program. It was taking as little as 19 days back in March/April 2014; of course they hadn't had thousands of applications submitted within a short period back then.

For those interested, the BOWP eligibility requirements can be found here:

I Wonder after submission Ita with other documents online it will give file no right away right!is that not the AOR?!?!

EE is apparently different than others. As soon as they submit all doc requested , they get AOR.
One guy posted on this forum that he got AOR within 24hrs, if he tells truth.
