BOWP approved, what next?

I had applied BOWP online and was approved, when I login to CIC I also see below Application message.

been mailed to you at the address that you provided when you made your application. If you have not received
your secure document within six weeks, contact CIC.

This letter is not valid for travel and is not a permit allowing you to remain in Canada.

My close work permit expires in 5 weeks so just wanted to confirm two things.
1) Am I now eligible to change employers.
2) Can I stay beyond my close workpermit expiry or are there any steps that I need to take before I am allowed.
Letter content 'Is not a permit allowing you to remain in Canada.' had me confused.

You need the work permit that will arrive via regular mail to officially change jobs. The letter stated on that email means the email itself. The email is not a valid document to stay in Canada but an intimation that your permit has been issued.

Thanks and say I received the work permit in a weeks time. Then is that sufficient for me to stay in Canada until I get my PR or are there some more steps like
getting visa stamping.

Yep, your work permit is sufficient for you to stay in Canada. Only if you plan to leave Canada except US, you will need a TRV stamped on your passport.

I applied it online and I was informed in 7 days that my application is approved. I am yet to receive the mail though.

Yep, your work permit is sufficient for you to stay in Canada. Only if you plan to leave Canada except US, you will need a TRV stamped on your passport.

is your previous work permit closed and your new BOWP open?

BOWP - stands for Bridging Open Work Permit. So BOWP is an OPEN work permit.

Nice to know your BOWP was approved. I guess it is a open work permit. So there is no confine of your job.

Thanks . Yes its an open work permit wherein one is allowed to change job upon receiving the mail,
which I am still waiting for.

If you applied it online you too should receive approval sometime this week.
