BOWP approved, same expiration date?????

Hello,
So my wife just received her BWOP, however the new permit came with the existing expiration date from our previous permit. As if no extension was granted, as if they just gave us the same permit with a different issue date. What is this???
Has anybody had the same problem??? What should we do??
We received a new document with the same information as our existing and about to expire work permit, with the exceptions of a new application number, new issue date and different case type.
Please help!

Is her pasport expiring the same day? (the only thing i could think of at the moment) but first thing in the morning - call the department. or if someone shares some useful information

no, her passaport expires on 2020.
We are going to call in the morning, but we are freaking out at the moment.

Somebody made a simple typing error, wrote 2017 instead of 2018. Call them, they will be able to recognize the error and remedy it.

They did not say anything in particular when they approved it, it was just by the normal via.
We applied for the bowp online, waited about a month, it said desition was made:approved. Then we waited to receive by mail because that's when you know for how it's valid for. We waited a week and when we received it we noted it was a document very similar to the OWP she already had, the difference was the case file number which changed from 20 to 54, new application number and same expiry date.
We just called CIC, they were not able to informed us what was wrong, they said we will receive a call within the next 10 business days with more information.
We asked if we should fgo to the border to maybe get an answer more rapidly and they said no.
Basically we are still freaking out.
WP expiring at the end of March.
If anybody has gone through the same or similar experience please do comment back, it will be greatly appreciated.
