My friend is Inviting me to canada,Alberta but yesterday I went to collect the checklist form and on it there is a part where they mentioned you should provide " Detailed Itinerary including proof of air ticket and hotel booking". What I understand of it, is that I have to book the flight ticket ,How can we book the flight ticket before being granted a visa...Can anybody explain me what does it mean.

Thank

It basically a way you can prove to them that you will return to your home country
once your Visa is done or expires.

So You mean I must book the Flight ticket in advance???

I think that will depends on your personal decisions. But it will be better if you can get a refundable ticket should in-case...And you have to be positive upon getting your Visa.

Hey can you explain me more about that Refundable ticket, I need to know what is that

When you purchase your tickets and its non-refundable it means that if you don't go and use that ticket you will NOT get your money back. So make sure if you are booking your ticket(before VISA), it is refundable just incase if they refuse to grant you the VISA.

It is normally more expensive to buy a refundable ticket than a non refundable one.

So what I to do...I'm mixed up

You have two options:

1) book and pay for a refundable flight. It will be more expensive, but I think it will increase your chances of getting your visa (I assume this is a visitors visa - what country are you coming from?)

2) write a letter explaining the difference in price between a refundable and non-refundable ticket (show proof if you can) and explain that without confirmation of a visa, you cannot buy your ticket, but these are your plans.

actually, 3 options:

3) take a gamble and book a non-refundable flight.

We had the same concern, but we decided to book flights (with Canadian Affair). We paid a bit more per ticket, but they gave us flexibility to change the dates if we needed to (subject to various terms of course!). Not sure where you're flying from, but thought I'd throw an option in there!!
