Hi,

I am planning to obtain Birth Certificate from Toronto Indian Consulate. I wanted to know latest fees from someone who has recently obtain BC from Consulate General of India in Toronto.

I don't trust the website as I have faced issue with that many times in the past.

Help appreciated !

Thanks,

I believe these days Birth Certificates issued by CGI is not valid and there are many instances the applications were rejected because of this.

It would be a good idea to obtain original BC from concerned authorities in India

hope that helps.

As per Toronto Indian embassy website:

Effective 2nd April 2012, applications for the Police Clearance Certificate will be accepted at VFS Global Centres. All applicants are advised to submit PCC application at VFS Centres at Eglinton or Brampton. The Certificate of Birth application will be accepted at the Consulate General of India, Toronto.

VFS central Helpline number is 1-877-599-8071 and their website is http://in.vfsglobal.ca

If you are applying both BC and PCC then you can apply at CGI office at bloor.

Few of my friends did apply last week.

Bhanavig,

CGI does not accept PCC application. Only Certificate of Date of Birth applications can be filed at CGI. Please recheck with your friends.

Thats correct. For PCC you have to apply @VFS office.......And pay arrnd CAD 70 which last year I paid 20 to CGI.

bahadur30, how long did it take for you to get the PCC?

All -

I think everbody agreeing to Affidavit for BC will work. I am going to go that route....

Yahoo7,

I have not received it yet. I applied on 10 Oct ..and it is almost a month.. I should receive anytime now. As per their guidelines, the timelines are 4 - 6 week.

YES, CGI will accept both IF YOU ARE APPLYING PCC AND BITH CERTIFICATE?
If you need go and confirm. Just last Friday My friend went and applied for them.

Common I never give false information on this forum. I think i'll expect the same from you guys as well.

Hi Bahadur30,

I have mentioned this in my earlier posts. CIC did not accept my BC from CGI Toronto and my documents were returned. Please get an affidavit done. All the best !!!

Thanks all of you!

tdcec,

when you say your application were returned, means whole package and you had to send again? I was under impression that CIC never returns the application, yes they may come back and ask for extra and more documentation.

Please confirm!

Hi Bahadur30,
Yes, my whole application package was returned back with a letter attached stating the reason it was sent back and how it could be rectified and resent.

Friends, I strongly advise to submit an affidavit or Statutory declaration if you are unable to submit a copy of the Birth certificate. CiC website also says the same thing. Do not rely on the Birth certificate issued by CGI or any other embassy.

Here is the link from CIC website. Just search by affidavit and the text appears (its a text format of the video, otherwise you can listen to the whole video)
