Biometrics for transit visa

Hi, do you know if I have to give my biometrics if I apply just for transit visa? I am Indian citizen but with German permanent residence. There is a message : We do not need your fingerprints. We will send you a message if this changes » in my profile but do you know if that might change?

Have you given biometrics within 10 years? If so you should need biometrics and the message will change if required. Is there a way not to transit through Canada?

Thank you for your answer. I've never given my biometrics. It's first time going through Canadian airport. The other flights are via USA so it's not the option... Do you know what could be the processing time?
