Procedural fairness amendment would have been accepted by the government - if only to save Maryam Monsef!

With more amendments, I have serious concern this bill will be lost in the ping-pong. A very serious blow to Liberal government - and well deserved too - if that happens.

The HoC WON'T accept all those changes :
Age requirement , minors applicants , fair process .. who knows what tomorrow and we know now that they will approve all the amendments , whatever they are !

The deal was the fair process amendment . The minister nor any discussions were mentioning about any other changes . They should have amended it at committee level so we would have known already if the HoC wants them or not , once again , they BLEW it .

No, I don't think so! The MP's promise to bring everything back is stronger than minor adjustments! My own opinion thou.

I think she is extremely nervous As a speaker she must do everything by the book, and it's very likely she does not know all the rules (you can hear an assistant constantly correcting/helping her)

the senator must move the motion first, they suspended to fix the text of the motion (cause he cannot move it otherwise).
After that they may debate it, and after that vote.

No they are suspended for a few minutes because the correct copy of the amendment was not distributed. He hasnt finished proposing the amendment yet.

This is another delay tactic. It's non-sense changes that they know that Independents in the Senate will say "Sure, why not. Barely changes a thing" but that they also know the HoC will reject. #Tactics
And this guy can't even speak fluent English... And he wants to give a lesson about learning 1 official language... #Hipocrisy

You must realise that the agreement to allocate time for the bill (and thus to speed up the vote on C-6) was not reached simply because cons decided to give up on their position. New amendments will be proposed/voted, but it will happen in a timely fashion.
