everyone should just focus on their lives, and try to be eligible according to current criteria, and not expect much from politicians.

worrying about this bill will only cause you anxiety and worry. Not worth your health
Exactly - if it passes, great, if not, life still goes on - it doesn't mean I won't continue watching the progress of this , but I will be watching with a calm mindset and won't make my life plan around guessing when it will pass

Guys dont worry about c6

The committee has important topic, I think they will finish it next week and their next setting will be for C6

Ottawa Hospital opens 1st medical 3D printing program of its kind in Canada

So stop nagging, 3D printing too important for us

#FACT: C6 will NOT be discussed next week

Looking at the bills before the committee, C-6 is the only governmental bill they have on their agenda
and as far as i know the governmental bills have priority, so i hope it is 2nd on the list

Still optimistic

Now there are 10 bills and studies in social affairs, science and technology committee and we can only speculate that C-6 will be started next week or next month. That is the only reality at this moment. So, stay fine with your present. It will be implemented at it's time.

There are only 5 bills/studies to be processed not 10 (they have already worked on the other 5 and submitted a reports mostly with no amendments)

They are gonna drive everybody crazy before working on it. Don't put all your effort and time worrying about this bill. Just live your life time will pass soon. The 4/6 law came into effect only a month before I could apply so I understand your pain. But this is only a small bump in the road 1 or 2 years will pass by soon and now the process is super quick. Before it was 3+2-3 years processing now its 4+3-6 months.

Suggest rather than hoping for the best - email these senators who are on the committee asking for their support.

The more pressure, public and private, the more likely they will be thinking about it and trying to get it off their plate.

Hi all,

Please I need everyone's advice.

I've been eligible to apply under the current(Harper) citizenship law for 4 months now but I was waiting in hopes bill c6 would be done soon.

My main concern is about "intention to reside" clause as I heard from a friend that another friend of his (Syrian) had his case refused during the interview since he visited his family for 1 week vacation in Dubai. This guy has a small business here, employs 10 Cabadians and still got rejected on the grounds that the officer wasn't convinced he intends to stay.

I'm Egyptian and I visit my father/mother in Egypt every 6 months or so and this has me very worried I will be rejected based on this.

Does anyone in the forum have experience with this issue of "intention to reside"? I am debating if I should start applying now or to continue waiting for c6 for a few more months.

Thank you!

A lot of my friends (were international students) who visit their families on a yearly basis became Citizens under the new Harper rule.

Must've been some other strong reason why the person you mention got rejected.
