"expected no later than December"

speculation [;-)
Let's not speculate, its a wait and watch game. CIC and the minister specially want to screen as many applications as possible before people who are not eligible now become eligible. It will reduce the workload and they have to keep the promise of reducing and maintaining citizenship processing time to less than a year. So they will speed up to clear people like us who are already eligible to make room for prospective eligibles. Read the mandate letter to the immigration minister. If they can get 50000 Syrians here with vetting in record time, they can do with our applications too.

Did I mention the PR renewal timeline was 45 days and it was increased to 6 months in Oct 2016? I know as I faced it, mainly becoz of resources being diverted towards Syrian refugees.

So chill and enjoy summer or extended spring whatever and stay calm.

Pardon me guys, but where did you see December 17th and "no later" than December.
The only thing I read is "changes expected in December"
She/He meant by Dec/17 December 2017 not December 17th.

Regards,

Well many apply as refugees, so no language tests. Plus CIC accepts ILELTS taken 5 yrs prior to application. Many's might have expired. I am exempt but know friends who had to take it again. Just a thought. If you qualify to go past the age requirement, then good, but if not, then enroll. Getting GC date for ILETS is hard at least where I live plus three weeks for results. etc etc etc etc.
Found my CELPIP scores from Dec 2013: 5L, 5H, 5L and 5H with CLB Levels of 9, 10 and above, 9, and 10 and above -- not bad for a USA edumaction. ;)

So still in the 5 year window it seems.

Was funny, had a co-worker from the UK who had to take the test too. Thought it was hilarious that she was being tested on something her native country "developed".

Thanks! VFX

I had a look at the CIC website on the language requirements and it does not make mention that the tests need to be within a five year window of applying. Is this a new requirement in Bill C-6?

"If they can get 50000 Syrians here with vetting in record time" - the quality of the vetting remains to be seen.

Hopefully, 3/5 will be implemented, effect immediately then Pre-PR credit will follow later in the year. I was eligible on June 25th, 2013, introduction of C-24 pushed me forward to June 25th, 2017. Now, C-6 is being introduced, LMAO.... this is crazy.

Hello everyone

I have question and I hope someone can help ? In regards to below quota from bill C6
"
Length of physical presence — calculation

(1.‍001) For the purpose of subparagraph (1)‍(c)‍(i), the length of physical presence is calculated in the following manner:
(a) for every day during which the person was physically present in Canada as a temporary resident or protected person under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act before becoming a permanent resident, the person accumulates half of a day of physical presence, up to a maximum of 365 days; and "

Does that mean, they will count half a day for everyday you spent in canada 5 years prior to the PR or it doesn't matter ?

Not for every day of of the 5 years.

You will not get 2 1/5 years credit for the 5 years. You can only get 1 year pre PR time credit.

Thanks for your prompt response, I know it's to the maximum of one year what I meant here is if I spent a year 7 years ago in canada as international student, will they count that year or it's not within the 5 years ?!
