Some of you might take this lightly, but I really think we made some difference with our tweets. These politicians don't have many followers, and you be sure most of them were reading our tweets (at least Sen. Jaffer and Sen. Omidvar did).
Lots of people are on these forums and with some enthusiasm I actually think we make a difference. Hopefully we won't need that and C6 pass smoothly now, but it's still an option (the only one actually) that we have.

No it won't it's all available since february, they updated their internal database with all the new directives and forms, the other person that has a friend at IRCC can confirm you that
They updated their process without even knowing how the final bill look like?

They updated them based on the Bill sent by HoC most likely, these are probably drafts but since the beginning HoC was never going to accepy this residency amendment

Based on today's trajectory, the latest amendment should be rejected, since it would destroy the bill in principle.

Question guys:

Let us assume bill c-6 get Royal Assent in June. Will it take one year to be active as what happened in c-24?

There was a post from the immigration minister indicating that it will be implemented fairly quickly. Also, Senators Jaffer and Omidvar's tweets in the past few months seemed to indicate the same. Senator Omidvar's amendment could, however, take 1 year to be implemented.

As per the minister, it will be implemented as soon as it gets Royal Assent. May be in a month or two.

I don't think the vote will be on the 2nd but hopefully that week. They haven't yet debated the most recent amendment. After that, assuming no other amendments, we should be good.

You're right I think. It seems each amendment proposed thus far took at least 2 sittings worth of debates before the vote. This latest one may not be any different.

Guys, relax. It is going to pass no matter what. Happy to see bill is moving forward. And the most scary part 4/6 was defeated. Senators are bit aggressive this time.

According to Sen. Jaffer (https://twitter.com/emad_arash/status/852875583927308288), bill will pass before summer. Need to see how fast HoC pass the amendments; as Liberal has majority.

https://twitter.com/SenJaffer/status/852789058170310656

According to sen jaffer, 2 May will be last amendment to vote. then they will debate the bill and send it to HoC

It might take 3 months to implement once it becomes a law

So now we are for sure at 3/5, right? Is it possible that they vote against this in May?
How about the time before the PR? did they vote on it? Is it half or non now?

Can someone who understands this process summarize exactly where we are now and what will be in May 2nd?
Thank you
