Hate to say this is not correct but it is not correct, C-6 was skipped , it was the 2nd bill on "messages from the HoC" and they went straight to Bills 3rd reading which is Bill -16Nothing skipped, they are going according to the order, c6 is at number 4, after c44, might be closer to the end of the session today or tomorrow the first one
You are mixing up the "bills on today's agenda" overview with the "order and notice paper". The latter is relevant for the order in which bills are called.Nothing skipped, they are going according to the order, c6 is at number 4, after c44, might be closer to the end of the session today or tomorrow the first one
We kind of know that... we are now waiting for a discussion in the Senate and a message to be sent back to the HouseThe house sent the message back to Senate
There are currently two government bills before the Senate: C-16 and C-6.Hi spyfy
Could you please tell except from c6 how many bills are there in front of the senate? And after coming back to senate was c4 discussed there for the first time today and did it passed in first sitting.
C-24 was debated only once in each reading/committee meeting in the senate. There are currently two government bills before the Senate: C-16 and C-6.
Bill C-4 has been in the Senate for about three weeks. I was discussed several times. Today it was voted through and therefore finished.
Bills basically never pass in the first sitting. The Senate debates almost everything more than once.
Yes but that was the Senate of the Harper era. The current senate likes debating much more.C-24 was debated only once in each reading/committee meeting in the senate.
Mostly they are the same senators from the Harper era but the majority are conservatives that is why they like debating government supported bills.Yes but that was the Senate of the Harper era. The current senate likes debating much more.
Yes that's why I mean. The conservatives are in the opposition now. And obstructing the proceedings despite not having a majority is the conservative's strength.Mostly they are the same senators from the Harper era but the majority are conservatives that is why they like debating government supported bills.
Yes. I expect the conservatives to debate the whole bill again and again as a delay tactic but eventually it will pass.Yes that's why I mean. The conservatives are in the opposition now. And obstructing the proceedings despite not having a majority is the conservative's strength.
Also note that of the currently 98 senators, 27 were appointed by Justin Trudeau.
