Hi Guys,

My BG check went into "in progress" almost immediately after AOR and has been stuck there ever since. Even though i submitted a requested additional document, nothing changed at all.

I have noticed some threads here suggesting that the initial "In Progress" checks the completeness of the application, after which the status goes to "Not needed at this time" until its time for PPR.

Anyone else in this boat? Do seniors know what the implications of this are on our applications (those of us in this position)?

Have we fallen off the wagon?

Not sure what happened to your case. But it seems to be quit slow. Maybe you can consider ordering a GCMS note at https://atip-aiprp.apps.gc.ca/atip/

Yeah i was considering applying for GCMS notes but was a little concerned it might be too soon. Its been about 2.5 months since AOR.

But it does seem slow right?

Are you a CEC applicant? if yes then your BG turns to "In Process" and stays that way till PPR. For FSW applicants BG usually turns "In Process" a week or so before PPR.

You can order GCMS whenever you want, its good to know whats happening on your file.

Cheers!

I'm in the exact situation. My timeline is my signature. BG in progress for almost 6 months now.

Here's my take on the situation:

I've been to Canada before, as a student. Hence most of details were already with CIC when I applied under express entry.
As per my GCMS notes, my application has been "promoted" due this, and so, BG went into progress on the second day of my submission.

Fortunately (?) I received a Ghost Email after almost 6 months last week. So, I'm hoping to finally see some activity regarding my application.

Bottom line is, don't worry. With CIC, no news is good news :)
