These r for "condos"... like anywhere in the globe [including Australia]. They include:
1. Common area maintenance/repairs/fitment/fixes
2. Daily & periodic deep cleaning of the property/common assets
3. External grass cutting
4. Gardening
5. Snow removal
6. Maintenance of S/Pool, Gym, Party Rooms, Kid's Play area etc.
7. Security
8. And includes in many condos [not all]:
- Heat & Hydro
- Cable

You are wrong. Many elect appliances (such Cuisinart) found in retail stores (such as Sears) in Canada are made in China. Some washer are from South Korea. Just that they are 110V while those sell in China are 220V. Your will need a transformer to use those 110V appliances.

What appliances are you talking about?
The supply in Canada is 60Hz and using step down transformers is not always good for the appliance.
