also try ottawa, specifically the Kanata area. There are tons of tech companies there and is considered a tech hub. Apparently Waterloo is starting to get that reputation too, and there will probably be less competition.

What little I found out is, in Ottawa it's mostly bilingual (english & french). recruiters prefer both language and I know only english.

Im thinking to make Toronto my base and apply to jobs anywhere in Canada as I don't have any specific location in mind and go with the flow wherever job takes me.

Are you Irish or is it just the experience?

Toronto is the place to go. Vancouver if you can afford to wait longer without a job and your finances allow it.

If you are caucasian Irish you can try in Alberta, Oil & Gas have a lot of IT support roles.
