Beirut - Spousal sponsorship - 2015

My application was sent in the 2nd half of January 2015
I got the sponsor approval very quickly
Then the application has arrived to Beirut on Feb 17 / 2015 (processing since then)
So it has been over 12 months in Beirut Visa Office

I will get the notes after two weeks, in sha' Allah

My husband found this link where you can find a choice to download an excel file in French or English. It's statistics on processing times! The latest as of September 2015 and updated every quarter with a lag of 6 months.... Basically it says that 50% of all applications are processed within 12 months and 80% within 15 months... However I don't know when that processing starts whether upon date of submission or date of transfer to Beirut or the processing time mentioned on Ecas...

The excel sheet is for processing times at visa offices so it doesn't take into account the sponsorship part since that's done in Canada.

Nshalla you hear something soon it is about time. They have been working on our cases and we are close to your time frame. But every application is different and requires more/less processing (e.g. sometimes they have to request and wait for information from external sources so this time is not under the control of the visa office). That's why you may see applications submitted after yours but completed before.

Yalla stay positive and keep yourself busy.. The longest part is over.

Thanks Akcec, true there is a part where they ask for external information... If the time is considered for processing time in Beirut office then hopefully I'll hear from them soon the waiting process can be tough, but it'll come along...

Hey Guys.

Quick Update on my Part, after I got my Visa on the 24th of Feb, I booked a flight on March, 3rd.

I'm now in Canada with my Wife.

It's a bit surreal.

It's been a hard long road. All of you here can relate I'm sure. At times it gets so hard and the light at the end of the tunnel seems faint.

Stay positive guys, we're all in the same boat.

Yes I had to go in for an interview.

Basically my file was transferred to beirut end of March 2014. Got a request for an interview in March of 2015.

And now!! In February 2016 they issued the visa for you !

Nope you're understanding it just right. It took 2 years in my case. Again my case had exceptional circumstances and took more than the average. However, when we applied the wait for sponsorship was 24 months. The. Later went down to 18.

But, yes the file took long but we really did expect it. And it the end it was worth it in my opinion.
