Well, I could, but things need explanation. I am an English teacher so I like to put detail into my work! Loool.. so hey, I will give them our full on story and hope they read it all and try to understand our situation.
Also my father will be writing a letter about meeting him and his thoughts and feelings about him and our situation and the experiences we went through together... is this a good thing?
If you need that much detail, why not give an executive summary in bullet form (to keep the details to a minimum), and let the CIC officer reviewing your application decide where he/she wants to delve in the detailed version?
The problem with too much detail is that the "documents" officer might give up, stop reading, and say that you need to come to an interview, thus passing the responsibility of making a determination to a different officer (the interview officer is not necessarily the same officer who reviewed the application).
So, make it easy to understand your "story" without having to read a thesis. If a thesis is necessary, give them the full version too, for their delectation and entertainment.
But you -- being an English teacher -- will appreciate Keats's apology in a long letter he wrote, saying something like "I am sorry this is so long; I did not have time to make it shorter." Perhaps pass your letter to an intelligent friend and ask him/her if it makes your point well. Less is sometimes more.
