BC PNP Tech Stream (EEBC)
Registration: 2024-07-02
ITA Received: 2024-07-03
Submitted: 2024-07-22
Status changed to "In Process": 2024-07-23

But I received the following email on August 23:

You are receiving this email because you applied to one of the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) Skills Immigration streams.

Please be advised that average processing times have increased for Skills Immigration applications submitted after May 2024. The estimated processing time is now expected to be approximately seven months for 80% of applications due to fewer federal nominations available to B.C. in 2024. Processing times for new applications are anticipated to return to approximately three months for 80% of applications in early 2025. Please see our news post dated July 15, 2024 for more information.

Please note that applying for a provincial nomination does not mean that you have legal status in Canada. Registrants and applicants with expiring work permits are responsible for maintaining legal status in Canada. Visit Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada’s website for more information about extending a work permit.

Thank you for your interest in the BC Provincial Nominee Program.

Sincerely,

BC Provincial Nominee Program

I hope it doesn't take that long to receive the nomination, has anyone in the tech stream applied and received a nomination recently?

I received a BC PNP invitation through my IRCC Express Entry profile and accepted it. This immediately added 600 points to my profile, which now reflects the following under "What I'm eligible for"

• Federal Skilled Worker = Met
• Provincial Nominee Program = Met

I have a few questions regarding my current eligibility:

1. I haven't completed one year of work experience in Canada yet, and my Express Entry profile only includes my foreign work experience. Should I update my IRCC profile with my current Canadian work experience as well?

2. Will I need to manually apply under any of the Federal streams, or will I automatically receive an ITA when a relevant draw occurs?

3. If I do receive an ITA, which stream would be better to accept: BC PNP or Federal Skilled Worker?
