In a Press Conference BC Parliamentary Secretary for Immigation and Multiculturalism Dave Hayer stated that as a policy the Doors to British Columbia are wide open Not only in Words But in Action.BC urgently needs international workers to relocate PERMANENTLY to British Columbian,Not as a short term solution,But as a permanent long term solution to building the infrastructure in our province. The result has been Nominations in as little as 20 days in the case of a Korean I helped to about 5 weeks in the case of 6 nurses I monitored. The Program has been a shining example of the Progress British Columbia has taken to encourage and Foster New Immigrants to British Columbia on a long term Permanent basis.Dont be a Temporary worker in another Province,Come Settle and bring your Family to best Place on Earth,A message from the Province
I repeat We do not have the money of Alberta,We have to pay for the staff processing the PNP and I know 1st hand it covers the Ministry cost.Secondly Alberta is the ONLY province that does not charge,Every other charges because We are POORER then Alberta

This is really impressive but think about it, You are getting 550 on each application. This is not a help. Firstly, poor H1B worker will have to find a job and then will have to pay 550 dollars. We don't do that. Albertans are famous for Helping others. We continue to do so.

Guys,
20 days -- !!!
How do you apply for a Canadian Permanent Residency through BC PNP Program ?
$ 550 is nothing if we get a Canadian permanent residency sooner.
Is it more complicated ?
any website shows that matter?

BCGuy,

I did masters in BC (sfu) and worked for 6 months, then left for USA (which was a biggest blunder :) ). now do I need to get an offer letter or somehow qualify for BC PNP without any offer since i lived there (abt 2.5 yrs) and worked for a while (less than a yr though).

Do you have any suggestions ??

@BC Guy -
I have a question: What if someone get a job offer from a BC company and hence applies for BC PNP, but while the application is being processed and hopefully approved, he gets an offer from another company with better prospects? Is it required by law to work for the same employer you mention in your PNP application or do you have the liberty to change employers, may be even without having to join the initial one?

Since PNP is based on sponsorship, if you are already working for the employer on a temporary permit when you apply for PNP, you must stay with that employer until you have your PR.

When you are not already in Canada and use an AEO to apply for PNP and PR, as long as you are not applying for a temporary work permit for another employer at the same time, your application will go through. When you get your PR, you do not have to work for the employer who gave you the AEO, you can work anywhere. The employer who gave you the AEO is also not obligated to hire you after you get PR. He may have filled the position in the meantime and not need you anymore.

Hello everyone!! Just wanna say that I'm really happy with this website. I have serious plans to apply for the B.C PNP and this is helping me a lot. I am currently on my 3rd month towards the 9 required to apply. I've been visiting this ws often and haven't seen much information about the Entry-Level and Semi-Skilled Pilot Program (ELSS) category of the BC PNP. Can anybody provide any information concerning this category of the BC PNP? Will the economy crises have any influence on the BC PNP and/or the ELSS BC PNP? And about the processing time after you apply, does it take longer than the skilled category??

Thank you very very much! Any info will be greatly appreciated.

The information on the semi skilled is on the website,We might be adding more eligibile occupations to the list,Economy is not that much of an issue since if dont have a job you dont qualify,Processing time is about the same though priority occupations such as nurses are done in 5-7 weeks.

Thank you BCguy, I appreciate your help. I dindn't quite understant what Albertagoverner meant by saying: '' Please send immediately a money order of 125.55$ CAD to us. We will continue to provide best & finest quality of Immigration services''. Am I supposed to pay for visiting this web site? Why would I be given a password to logg in if I was supposed to pay anything? Thank you.

He was only joking :)
This is a free website. Nobody gets paid for answering questions here but also keep in mind that the people on here may or may not know what they are talking about. Mostly if somebody gives a really wrong answer or really bad advice, somebody else will correct them but to be safe, also do your own research and double check when something is important to you.
