Bank statements

Hi,

not sure if I get this right but since I am in Canada and applying for PR does that mean I need to send all the bank statements of the past 6 months for all of my accounts (including credit cards etc.)?

I just went to my bank and asked them and the guy behind the counter gave me a single page document with my current accounts on it. He told me I could print out anything else from their online banking website... which doesn't fullfill the requirements from the CIC (it's only .csv files etc. CIC want something with official letter head)

Anyone applying from inside Canada, what did you use here?

what I am talking about is this part here:
If you are applying for permanent residence in Canada, you must provide an official letter issued by your financial institution indicating your financial profile.

Your financial profile includes a listing of all your bank (chequing and savings) and investment accounts. The official letter must be printed on the letterhead of the financial institution and must include your name, the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and e-mail address), the account numbers, dates of when each account was opened and the balance of each account over the previous 6 months.

You must scan all proof of funds documents and save them as one file.

You do need 6 month statements from all your accounts, an official letter stating when each account was created and the one page you received.
Which bank are you with and what city?

This is the document that they wrote for me. If you are in Edmonton this rep will be able to do it. He has the template saved.
You need to attach to that the "Your Personal Assessment" document you received and all statements for 6 month.

Yes, better. Thanks! So it's not the whole 6 months. I think I try the summary as well. If they want the whole 500 page tome I guess they come back and ask

They print it for you in TD and it will be more like 50 pages top for all accounts. At least in my case it was less than that. They usually do it for 3 as a standard procedure.

Cannot you just ask in the bank for details about you ending balance each month on the letter instead printing statements for 6 months with all transactions which they are not supposed to see.
As I understand the request form CIC, it has to be a letter from bank and must include your name, the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and e-mail address), the account numbers, dates of when each account was opened and the balance of each account over the previous 6 months.

They don't ask for statements, unless there is more instruction which I don't know about.

Yes, I see with them again tomorrow. The wording makes it sounds though as they would want every balance (which means all transactions in the end). I think if they would wanted "end of every month" or something like that they would have been more precise?

Agreed, and I could assume so too from: "balance of each account over the previous 6 months". Instead I handed the instructions to the TD rep and let him to decide what's needs to be done. Nothing wrong with some extra information. Not my printer, not my ink.

I just handed over the requested Bank Statement help given by CIC to TD and Scotia. They prepared the statements and returned to me.

@cosgrec Thanks for the info. Who did you get to write that letter? The opening dates is the only thing I have missing now.

Dax Retes - Financial Advisor.

You can see the location for the branch and the contact information on the image I attached.
If you are not in Edmonton just print mine and have a Financial Advisor in your branch to write one for you.
