Hi all
Can anyone send me the link to the official statement by the CIC that bank statements in the name of the spouse of the principal applicant are also accepted as proof of funds? I hear it is so but have been unable to find such a thing in CIC publications.

Thanks ...

I don't have any link but know that your spouse bank statement can serve as proof of fund for the family.

What it is yours legal is also hers once you are married in court of legal jurisdiction.

On a lighter note, I would beg to slightly differ. What is yours, would be legally hers, after your demise and she being your legal heir and the court of legal jurisdiction not having nullified the marriage ! ha ha

But, with reference to the context, if she is i accompanying you, you can also show combined funds !

If your wife is also included in the immigration application and will be immigrating with you then the bank statements in her name will be acceptable.

Thank you all,
So I was right, no direct statement by the CIC, just common sense huh?

What if the bank account is under my wife's name instead of mine? Will that be a problem given I am the principal applicant? She has sufficient funds in her account since one year as proof of funds for settlement. She can transfer to my account but she has to travel to Pakistan, only for this purpose.

Your valuable comments are much appreciated.
