Please can someone please kindly let me know an alternative to the bank letter. My cousin's bank wouldn't give her a letter in CIC'S requested format ie 6 months average balance, list of accounts and start dates etc. I know there are some helpful people here so please kindly help me out with what the best alternative would be. Thank you very much!

Print the online statement.
And ask for a letter which just say the money in the bank.
Should be fine.
Thanks a lot, but they won't write any personalised letter which includes that the money is in the bank. They only write balance certificate letters which basically states that XX amount is in the account as at this date. Was this what you meant?

yeah, something like that.
Also, get your statements stamped. Provide six months statement. that will prove that your money is old and legit.
Good luck.

which country is the bank from?
If its canada, go to a teller and they will give you 6 months statement and will stamp it.

Thanks so much you guys, you're very helpful. What if she only provides 6 stamped bank statements for each of her 5 bank accounts? This is because they'll either provide the balance certificate or the stamped bank statement. The bank is in the UK. Thanks.

Why 5 bank accounts? is the required amount split in 5 banks accounts?
If yes, then wire transfer the money into 1. For proof you will have wire transfer reciept.
And then provide statments for all.
if your cousin has not submitted the app yet, its better to consolidate the money in 1 and go by what I told you before.
Don't try to complicate things for yourself.

agree with doobie. why 5 banks

put all money in one and show that balance. online printed statement works fine.

Thanks doobie.doobie and vehla_ji. The required funds is in only one of the bank accounts while she has funds in her other accounts. However since CIC says to provide a letter listing all account holdings and their start dates showing 6 months average balance of each which the bank won't provide, she's thinking of just printing out and stamping 6 months bank statements of each of her accounts. This includes statements of four bank accounts and 1 credit card in place of the letter. Would that fly? My cousin is in Manchester Vehla_ji. Thanks.

CIC has to see that you have the required funds. Period. In her case, I would deal with that account only - stamped statements from the last 6 months. I don't believe they need to know about every cent you have - only that you have enough to meet their requirements. Why complicate things?

if your cousin is the only person applying PR, any bank account which has CAD 12000 equivilant is fine. Don't worry about your other accounts. But, make sure you can provide 6 months statement for that account. Money should be old. That's it.

I disagree with you because you're speaking from a CEC perspective. FSW proof of funds states the following:

'The applicant should provide official letter(s) from financial institution(s) which list all current bank and investment accounts, as well as outstanding debts such as credit cards and loans.
The letter(s) must be printed on the letterhead of the financial institution and must include applicant’s name, the contact information of the financial institution (address, telephone number and e-mail address), the account numbers, dates of when each account was opened and the current balance of each account as well as the average balance in the past six months'.

The OP has stated that the bank won't provide such letter to her cousin therefore I believe her cousin should then provide 6 months bank statements each of all her account holdings including loans. This is because in addition to having sufficient funds, CIC also wants to see that the applicant isn't in substantial debt. Correct me if I'm wrong.
