Hello all,
My boyfriend is a Malaysian citizen. He is hoping to visit Canada this year on a visitor's visa (temporary resident's visa) for the purpose of tourism. In order to apply for a visa, he needs to send in with his application "proof of means of financial support." One of the acceptable documents is a bank draft in a convertible currency. Can someone please explain this to me? What kind of bank draft would he ask for at the bank? Who would he have it addressed to? From what I understand, the Malaysian Ringgit is NOT a convertible currency. In this case, is it possible to have a bank draft drafted by the Malaysian bank into a convertible currency? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
