I have the same question. Can Bangladeshi applicants show FDRs instead of bank statements? Also, what if instead of a statement from a bank, I show my money invested with a building society?

You can show statements of FDRs, don't know about building society though.

Where did you get that rule from? I can't trust the CIC website because it says to show 4 months of bank statement whereas the Singapore site asks for 6 months! The Singapore site makes no mention of showing FDR statements.

Also, is there a ruling saying that the money has to be there for the entirety of that 6 months period? Or is that just a "being on the safe side" rule of thumb?

Yes, as per the checklist provided in Singapore website you have to show a 6 months bank statement.

As far as i understand bank statements includes current a/c, saving a/c, FDRs. Remember for UK everyone knows a current or saving a/c statement has to be shown however i know many people who showed FDRs and got a visa for UK. The same should apply for Canada.

Do not know if the fund for yr studies has to be there in the a/c for the entire 6 months.

Don't forget to submit father in law's copy of passport or birth certificate to prove relationship and income tax documents for at least.

Hello Everyone,

My wife got offer letter in Professional Accounting Practice which is Ontario College Graduate Certificate program from Seneca College for this Fall 2015. Basically, she finish her BBA in May, 2014 from North South University. I have already started working on collecting the documents for student visa but I am confused about certain things:

1. My father-in-law will pay for her expenses and tuition. She will be need a sponsorship letter (if somebody can send me sample sponsorship letter in my email: monju760 @ gmail.com, that will be appreciated). But, I am confused regarding what kind of documents does she has to show for financial supports. My father-in-law is willing to show bank statement. But I do not know from the bank what kind of documents need to show because I am really bad in this section.

2. Regarding property: how should I show the property values? Like do I have to show the property documents (give them the original documents) or is there some other way I am not aware of?

3. What are the documents that my father-in-law will have to give her like: Trade License and what else? (He is a businessman).

4. Can anyone please send me a sample Study Plan at monju760 @ gmail.com
