I have a question regarding my wife's case (sponsorship). Her case has been stuck at B/G check for almost 2 months.
On 7/27 since my wife had been in Canada for than half an year, CIC requested a RCMP PCC from her. We uploaded the PCC on 8/4. From the ATIP, which was dated 08/30, we can see local VO indeed received her PCC. But now almost one month had passed, her B/G check is still in progress.
I was wondering is it because of her lack of Burmese PCC?
She stayed in Burma from age 18 to 19, about 15 years ago. Since she's not in Burma now, she could not apply for a PCC from that country. CIC acknowledged this problem and wrote explicitly on their website that my wife did not have to turn in Burmese PCC.

Certificates cannot be obtained by non-residents. If you no longer live in Burma (Myanmar), you are not required to provide a police certificate from Burma (Myanmar). If you are asked for a police certificate from Burma (Myanmar), write: “I cannot provide a police certificate for the time I spent in Burma (Myanmar) because certificates are only available to people who currently live in Burma (Myanmar).”
However, I'm guessing CIC will use their own channel to look into my wife's background in Burma. Usually how long will it take for this kind of "unable to acquire PCC" situation?
