Because the notes specifies that the Visa officers are requesting ECU's to request that means to contact or to communicate to the applicant.
Due date means they should chk for any update on due date

Hello guys

Talking about background checks, I need to ask you some questions.

I am a QSW applicant transferred to the CPC Ottawa, I am living in Montreal with a temporary resident visa. My ECAS is as follows:

We received your application for permanent residence on June 09, 2015.
We sent you correspondence acknowledgement of receipt on Sept 01, 2015
We started processing your application on Sept 01, 2015

Surprisingly, on November 09, they asked me to send a certificate of criminal record check from Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), which I sent within a week.

But no medical request so far.

My questions are:

Why do you think they asked me for RCMP first?

Shouldn’t they send me medical request first, as it is the case with every body here?

Do you know any other applicant being asked for RCMP, before sending him the medical request?

Please help me...

Amelie,
VO has power to go right and left wherever VO feels some doubt. It is good VO asked you RCMP report, which is easy and quick.
some time names are confusing to VO for some verifications. possible same or similar to your name is confusing VO. don't worry Good Luck

Yes you are right normally VO asking both together or medical first.

During BGC Security, many third party BGC Companies are checking you as if you are linked with any terrorist organization/ or got training or any organization which is dangerous for the Canada Security from all countries where u lived more than 6 months.

what rubbish nekeol?? ECU stands for Economic Class Unit and not electronic blah blah you mentioned.

Basically,ECA is a group within CIC that specializes in reviewing economic class applications.
