Hi Master Qorax,

I had PPR last July 26,2012 received in LA last Aug.8,2012, just worried after a week I emailed them with some correction on my name I provided an affidavit of discrepancy and my birthcertificate as well. Do you think it will be a problem ? still waiting for my passport back. Hope i did the rigth thing. anyway my name is Ma.______ in passport which is abbreviation of Maria _____ but in their records as well as in the forms I put Maria due to my Canadian Work permit and Visa that they issued to me last 2007 and later in 2011 they corrected my name as Ma. same with my passport now I had changed everything to Ma. so thats the reason I provided them the affidavit. Do you think SIR i did the right thing , they never emailed back...I had no clue...Pls. help...

I need your very knowledgable opinion Master. Thank you for all the help. you are very much appreciated...Godbless!!!!

1. Usually whatever is written in ur pps - they'd follow that.

Me and my wife both are accountants. I m a CA.
I had word with a consultant. He said though ur occupation is not in NOC. So we will make ur wife as first applicant and show her working in insurance sector. I asked him whether background check will happen or not. He said it used to happen earlier. But now days NO.
So just want to check from you. Whether agencies checked to this extent that a person is working in which profile.I have fair idea that back checks happen .

I am planning to go back home to the Philippines on December. I will not have the PR card by that time but i will definitely have my passport with the canadian PR visa.

My question is, can i travel outside then go back to Canada without the PR card?/ Is the visa&passport enough for me to go back or should I still wait 2 more months for the PR card before i travel?

As you can see, on visa says "Number of entries - ONE". So once you entered Canada, completed landing, you cannot use it again.
If you don't have your PR card you need to apply for travel document:
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/applications/travel.asp
Permanent residents returning to Canada by airplane, boat, train or bus must show a valid PR Card or travel document before boarding. The following application is for permanent residents outside of Canada who need proof of their status so they can return to Canada. Use this travel document if you have lost your documents showing your permanent residence status.
Alternatively when your PR is send to the address you gave at the point of entry it can be sent to you by mail.

would you mind giving me suggestion for the following response from VO please?
I got no response for a long time for VO,( i had applied in march 2010 ,went in procees with date in oct 2010 ) so i decided to withdraw my application and sent a request but VO replied me as follows

...We would encourage to you keep with your current application if you are still wanting to immigrate to Canada....

then again i sent another email asking if its so, how long should i wait ? got the following response.

.....Additional review of your application has been completed, and it has been determined that additional screening is required. Your application remains on hold until the results of this screening is completed by our partner organisations. We regret a more precise processing time cannot be advised at this time. We will be in contact with you as soon as the application is ready to proceed...

My Caips notes mention " Total Funds: $ 0000000, Meets Definition: (Y/N) ? This thing disturbs me a lot, actually I send them a bank statement of Pak. Rs. 1600,000 in addition to my flat evaluation worth Pak. Rs. 30,00,000/= and possession of gold of 272 gms to them in July, 2009. Will you please give your sagacious opinion on it.
