New tougher Canada laws to curb illegal immigration
Canada, 25th October: The Canadian government has unveiled new tougher laws to control illegal immigration in the nation.

This will be done by introducing stiff penalties for those involved in human smuggling. Moreover, the federal government has also stated of detaining asylum seekers in Canada.

The main aim will be to crack down on those involved in human smuggling in Canada leading to their prosecution.

Some of the new measures include compulsory detention of human smugglers extending up to 10 years, prison sentences, a waiting period of five years for illegal immigrants wanting to make application for permanent residency in Canada, terminated refugee applications for those returning to their native nation for holidays and holding ship operators and ship owners to make them accountable for using ships in illegal Canada immigration.

The announcement about the new Canada immigration laws for punishing the guilty of illegal immigration in Canada was made by Vic Toews, Canada’s Public Safety Minister and Canadian immigration minister Jason Kenney in Vancouver on Thursday.

The new law states that anyone found to be involved in smuggling of more than 50 people to Canada for monetary reasons while risking his or her own life will have to spend 10 years in jail.

Mr. Toews stated clearly that Canada will not allow abuse of its immigration system either by people smugglers or those not willing to abide by Canada immigration rules.

The new stiffer and harsher penalties for human smugglers in response to the growing human smuggling activities in Canada which proved that Canada is being targeted by human smuggling networks, Toews.

The government of Canada had been promising tougher legislations ever since the officials caught a ship with 500 Tamils on B.C. coast this August. Almost a year ago, around 72 Sri Lankan Tamils had landed on Canada border. All such migrants have asked to be provided refugee status in Canada.

The officials say they have struggled for a long time to put together the rules that were approved by the Canadian PM (Prime Minister) Stephen Harper and cabinet.

The government of Canada stated that it will have to act tough or will be at risk of losing public support for Canada’s generous refugee and immigration system.

1. Ghana has an usual delay in processing.
2. U have a queue in every stage - BFD to BFD.
3. Not security, but b/ground checks would be On.
4. Trackitt would give u a timeframe for your CHC cases. Check there.
5. I guess, it'd take 2 yrs at least.

Qorax

Don’t lie in your Canada immigration application
Canada, 26th October: Do you know that any lie in your Canada immigration application can put a question mark on your chances of immigration?

While providing detailed information in your application for Canada immigration, you must provide a true and authentic detail of various facts about yourself. Giving any false information can hinder not only yours but also the chances of your family members seeking immigration to Canada.

Why should you abstain from providing false information in your Canada visa application---

• Giving untrue information in your application is regarded a legal crime under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;

• It renders you ineligible to immigrate to Canada either for studying in Canada, working in Canada, going to Canada on a Canada visitor visa or seeking permanent immigration to Canada;

• It reduces the chances of your family members for Canada immigration;

• It shows your disrespect towards rules of laws and makes you suspicious in the eyes of the Canada immigration officials regarding the disrespect you might show towards Canadian laws after your immigration to Canada.

• Immigration fraud is considered to be a big threat to the security and integrity of the immigration system of Canada and anyone caught to be misrepresenting the facts is likely to be denied any chance to immigrate to Canada.

• The introduction of ‘The Cracking Down on Crooked Consultants Act’ on June 8, 2010 is another proof of the fact that anyone found to be involved in fraud either directly or under the influence of any crooked immigration consultants to gain Canada citizenship or Canada visa will not be spared by Canada immigration department.

• The government of Canada has introduced several measures to ensure that immigration consultation services in Canada are provided only by notaries, lawyers or registered members of CSIC (Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants).

• Anyone giving false information about persecution for making refugee claims is likely to face severe punishment as per the Canada immigration laws.

Remember, honesty is, undoubtedly, the best policy if you want to successfully immigrate to Canada and even a small lie might make you pay a heavy price for your mistake.

Hi Vermas,
VO sent letter advising that I have not met neccessary requirements for Fsw even though this was checked at cio-stage he gave example of noc i had claimed which he advised is not 0 or A or B . Also experience needs to be full time continous which for me is more than years but there are gaps between full time employment periods supplemented by part time continous. Also I didn't show proof of funds to exacted amount which is now $11086 the amount I showed was less than the required amount in addition to this even though I have permanent full time employment my offer letter didn't have word "permanent". When I send documents earlier during 120 day request I only had offer of employment. so he gave zero points for arranged employment. I am on PGWP so don't need AEO. when they called my employer they confirmed it was permanent full-time to vo.
however at the last part of the letter said VO would like to give me opportunity to submit additional documentation to address his concerns otherwise application will be rejected.
The documents he needed he gave only hints not exactly what he expects?
What I don't understand is the fact. If I am not capable of PR he should have send reject letter directly.
I scanned all forums and consulted all help I have here and sent additional documents to VO..will keep you guys posted if that worked!
Hope to get medical request soon!

Hello imu,

My file went into "in process" on 19 October and there has been no change or communication from VO since then. "in process" stage is supposed to be the longest, isn't it.

Good luck..

Hi Mr Qorax

I want your expert opinion as to how much point I can earn from my experience. I belong to pre- june 26 MI. I applied under NOC 1111 and i worked as such for 3yrs and 10 months to be exact until the 120th deadline which is on feb 4,2011. Prior to this I acquired experience as a bookkeeper for 2 years which is not included in the MI applicable at that time. Can you tell me whether it's a 19 or a 21 points? I need to get the full 21 points... please, please advice.

First of all- Which one is your visa office?

There could be many factors, such as
-Different visa offices have different processing timelines.
-Each case is different
-One visa officer can be faster than other
-Quality and accuracy of documents submitted
-Compliance with specific instructions of the concerned visa office to submit documents
-Submissions of plain photocopies versus notorized versus original documents

Cheers....
