The reason I'm asking is because I am sponsoring my husband and I got pregnant after we submitted the paperwork. I contacted CIC a couple months ago and they know I am pregnant. Yesterday I got a letter in the mail stating I need to pay the right of permanent residence fee ASAP. I thought they ask you for that when the application is open and being reviewed.... when we applied the wait time was at 22 months but it has only been 8 months since it was submitted.Ponga said:Congratulations!
As Rob_TO stated, it won't expedite the process at all. If your baby is born BEFORE the applicant has PR, I believe the baby MUST be declared to CIC (unless the baby will already have Canadian citizenship at birth). An example would be if the father (sponsor) is a PR, but not a Canadian citizen, and the mother (person being sponsored) delivers the baby abroad. The child would not be a Canadian at birth and if omitted from the mother's PR application, would never be able to be sponsored under the Family Class.
I think they ask for RPRF when they are ready to issue your visa and COPR. As far as I know, asking for RPRF is a very good sign.atclarke said:The reason I'm asking is because I am sponsoring my husband and I got pregnant after we submitted the paperwork. Unfortunately it didn't for me. I applied outland -US in January right after I found out and with all the lost paperwork and other crap my son is now three months old. They didn't even ask about him until a month ago. I'm not even at in process yet on eCAS. But that's a whole other story.atclarke said:Just curious if anyone's has/had a child on the way and are doing spousal sponsorship (outland)? Was it quicker? Was there any difference at all?
You're American coming to the Canada?... in ecas for mine all it says is application received. CIC office in Jamaica told my local Member of Parliament last week that they were going to open our application within the next few days because I had them look into it for me. The status still hasn't changed yet.blueangel371115 said:Unfortunately it didn't for me. Yup, mine hasn't either. We didn't even get SA until the day after we called and the day after we resent the whole application per the MP's direction. However eCAS showed the application was received in March, when the documents were resubmitted. Got SA July 17. For Outland!!! To Ottawa. Then just recently documents were requested for Quebec.atclarke said:You're American coming to the Canada?... in ecas for mine all it says is application received. All they asked for was RPRF, not another police clearance. Ugh I hate not knowing what's going on!dreamtocanada_uk said:Singapore visa office asked me to submit my wife RPRF and New police clearance certificate .i already submitted but one month is gone no news at all same e-case status Application received.
