To be eligible for the Canada child benefit (CCB), you must meet all of the following conditions:
- You must live with the child, and the child must be under 18 years of age.
More to the point hopefully you are taking care of the fact that if your mum is leaving the country with your 6 month old you are giving your mum an authority letter to travel without the Childs parents. Without such a letter your mum could have issues with child trafficking prevention steps taken by most countries at their borders.
