Visa Question
I have a b1/b2 visa from 2014 which is valid until 2024.
I came to the US with that visa in 2014 and then came to the US with H1b in 2015, I have my 140 approved.
During COVID, I got stuck in Canada as I was there to confirm my PR. I applied for my H1B extension as my i797 was getting expired and got the extension until 2024.
As I have my family here in Canada and I liked the city so I decided to stay in Canada and converted myself from a W2 employee to a contractor after I opened my corp with the same US company.
Now I need to travel to the US for a friend's function, Can I travel with my B1, I had an extension approval of H1b but I never went for Visa stamping which expires in 2024.

You no longer are employed by the company and can't use your H1B to enter US anymore. I've been in a similar sorta situation carrying B1/B2 and H1B after moving to Canada. It is actually appropriate to use your B2 since your purpose is visiting/tourism.
