average time taken by Sydney CIO to acknowledge the receipt of application

its great to see how everyone is helping each other out here.

I sent my application on June 06, 2009, and I tracked the FedEx, it was dropped at the CIO on June 11, 2009.
I have NOT HEARD ANYTHING from the CIO uptil now.

does that usually take this long to get just a letter of acknowledgement?

hi

from the posts we are seeing on the forum of late, we can safely infer that the average time for the CIO to get back to a candidate ranges anywhere between 30 - 65 days.

So, your case is quite normal , but you should be hearing shortly from them .. in a week or 2..

based on other people's experience here, it can be said that now Sydney office takes around 2 months to issue AOR.

ayark - thats a bit long for dd not being cashed. Did you send by courier.

As per my observations, people who applied in May 09, mostly have got there AOR from Sydney. Not the processing time has increased since the CAT - 2, 3 have also been parked with CPC, Sydney and the time for processing a file has increased. from 20-30 days to 30 - 45 days I think its now to 45-60 days.

I would suggest people to inquire from there banks regarding draft clearing as it usually takes 30 days after clearing. Clearing will at least tell you that they have looked at your file and started processing it.

Just my opinion.

My opinion, don't write anything to the CIO. The reason is:


You said that you have sent your application on the last week of May by regular mail !!.

Man regular mail sometimes takes (nationally) from within canada up to 12 or 13 days or more to get delivered. For example, i live in canada and i sent my application by the best service in post canada(regular mail) called priority courier on june,2 and it was delivered on june,8 (6 days from within canada)which takes only two hours by airplane from where i live to sydney nova scotia.

you have sent your application from india by regular mail to canada, at the last week of may, it means that your application lasts up to 5 or 6 weeks just to get delivered to sydney nova scotia. so expect that they have recieved your application at the middle of july and have not started processing it yet, they are working now on applications recieved almost up to 25th of june (these information are from the call center inside canada), so your application is not being processed yet and your money order hasn't been cashed yet because your application is not even opened yet and no information will be available on it until they open it.

You are waiting since 60 days according to your calculations, but according to the CIO calculations (recieving date), you might be waiting since only 2 weeks.

Therefore, count at least 2 months after july, 15 to expect any response from the CIO.

agree with professional 1... regular mail from within India to India takes, in fact within North zone to North Zone sometimes takes 15 days and you think an international regular mail would match courier timing. forget it... now, did you send it at least by air mail or regular regular mail??? with air mail, you can expect delivery in 20-30 days. But regular mail goes by ship... it can reach from anytime between 2 months to 4 months.

your counting will start the day it reaches NS.

that's why i asked - how do you know it reached there yet????
