State Sponsorship entirely depends on the occupation list of the primary applicant & also the requirement of that state.

Above all, it also depends on the quota of the state for that particular occupation.

They charge a fee & if you meet the requirement, they normally grant the same, which fetches the primary applicant 5 points.

Well, as I said, that was my experience with Western Australia and Tasmania in particular. And it is not occupation-related either. Here is a citation from WA state nomination requirements:

WESTERN AUSTRALIAN STATE NOMINATION ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
OCCUPATION ON SCHEDULE 2 OF THE WESTERN AUSTRALIAN
SKILLED MIGRATION OCCUPATION LIST

Subclass 190 visa ■ Have a contract of employment for full-time employment for at least 12 months in Western Australia in the nominated (or closely related) occupation.
Subclass 489 visa ■ Have a contract of employment for full-time employment for at least 12 months in regional Western Australia in the nominated (or closely related) occupation.

http://www.migration.wa.gov.au/SiteCollectionDocuments/skilled_migration_criteria_2014-2015%20(3).pdf

Tasmania rules are even harsher.

There are much better states that WA & Tasmania

NSW / VIC / SA

Any rules much much better too.

By the way, your link also contradicts your post.

It says -

Western Australian State nomination minimum requirements -

meet the minimum work experience requirement of:
◦ at least one year of Australian work experience in the nominated (or closely related
) occupation
over the last ten years; or
◦ at least three years of overseas work experience in the nominated (or closely related
)
occupation over the last ten years;

So either of the two above.

Whos asking mandate Aus experience ONLY?

n As I said, it is very much occupation specific.

But at least entire Aus PR process is transparent.

Unlike Canada's.

Hi,

Might I respectfully suggest that discussion on this topic be taken to a more appropriate venue, for example:
http://www.expatforum.com/expats/australia-expat-forum-expats-living-australia/#/forumsite/20560/forums/6

(Or another of your choice, see Google)

:)

This is after all, canadavisa.com

Sure lamma.

Kakman -

cool, your IELTS result is due tomorrow.

You need to get ur education n experienced assessed by the concerning body, depending on your field of education, can be VetAssess or ACS or any third party if there exists any(not sure abt).

Once u get the assessment done, & by then you will have your IELTS score card,

then you need to check how many points you making, 60 is the minimum point to spply for PR.

So, if you make 60 pts without any State Sponsorship then u can apply for Visa 189, which means post PR, you have the liberty to live in any of the state of Aus, however if you make 60 pts with the help of State Sponsorship, then post PR, you need to go to that particular state & live n work there for a minimum if 2 yrs.

you need to file for EOI, if given an invite, then you need to lodge the visa application.

Pts are divided under various categories

Age
Edu
Exp
IELTS (scoring 7 in each band fetches u 10 pts, & scoring 8 in each, will fetch you 20 pts, but in each band. Any band less than 7, will fetch 0 pts, even if the over all avg is 8 or even more or what ever.

I wouldn't like to go into a squabble over Australian immigration in a Canadian immigration forum :) so this will be my final post on the topic. My occupation was only listed in WA and TAS skill lists so not much I could do about the other nicer states... No one is asking mandate Aus experience only, the link I provided and the requirements are pretty clear. There are minimum requirements (the ones you mention), and on top of that, there are additional requirements depending on your situation. For example, do you meet the minimum requirements? Good. Is your occupation listed under Schedule 1 or 2? If Schedule 1, you must additionally meet this requirement; if Schedule 2, you must additionally meet that requirement. If you are living in another Australian state you've got to meet this and that requirement as well, so on and so forth.

So meeting the minimum requirements doesn't cut it for states of WA and TAS, I wish it did.
