Congrats Rachiy on the approval. You are in Canada right?

I was able to log onto ECAS (first time) today but just comes up with the pop up box for allowing me/others to view info online. I guess I'll have to wait a little longer.

Yip I have been in Calgary for the last three years.

Thanks guys, and congrats dawndarkharp!

Congrats everyone on the approvals.
How do you like Calgary Rachiy? I've been here most of my life and I'm always curious to know how others like it.

I am kinda undecided about Calgary. I love the career opportunities, being close to the Rockies, the hot summer and relatively mild winters (compared to Edmonton or Winnipeg, not compared to NZ!), and there is always a lot going on here. But I hate being so far from the ocean or a decent river/lake. My partner is originally from Vancouver Island, and I would like to live pretty much anywhere in BC, but without oil and gas and all the money that brings to the city my partners company would not do nearly as well (he is a residential framer, and demand for houses in Calgary is nuts!!). So I think we are gonna milk this city for a few more years yet, especially once I get PR and can actually get a real job. lol.

You must love Calgary if you have been here for a while?

Im an Aussie here on a working visa and in a commonlaw relation ship. Im about to send in my application and my visa extension. Just waiting on a few more documents from Australia. We are hoping that it will be a pretty easy process....

Thank you! You as well!! How exciting, so many of us moving forward :)

Congrats to Rachiy & dawndarkharp on your sponsorship approvals! Can't wait for that day...I'm always excited when I forget about our application for a day or two, because it means we've gotten a day closer without realizing it, ha.

Vancouver is beautiful! But not a cheap place to live...

Hi Minniejungle, I just want to ask you how did the request for the Singapore Police check came, was it thru standard mail or an attachment to an e-mail? Since when did you get?Did you have to make a request? I also need one as I lived in Singapore for 6 years. My file was transferred to Sydney VO on July 23,2012 and have not heard a word since. Thank you.

hi yanni link, I sent the paperwork to Singapore a while back asking my friend to help applying for the police clearance, but they didn't process because they needed a letter from CIC stating that they need the police check - so they emailed me my case no. and told me to write them again once I have that. What I did was I emailed them the AOR from Sydney visa once I got that, and they emailed me back saying they would send it straight to Sydney visa office (takes 2-3 weeks time) and that I need to check with them after 3 weeks. I guess I need to email them soon. :)

btw, update from me guys, eCas has shown "in process" from 19th Sept. smvi, please update the spreadsheet, thank you!

I sent mine on the 11th of September, any idea how long it has been taking roughly for Aussies applying to Mississauga via outland process to receive their notification of application received email (if there even is one?)

Or are we only notified once it has been assessed and sent to the Sydney office?

My application arrived in mississauga on july 10th and I got my approval letter by email yesterday morning, and it said it has now been sent to sydney. we didn't get an AOR, just the approval email... took 75 days for us to receive it. good luck!

I received PPR today and yes, I can confirm that Sydney only requests a photocopy of every page rather than the original passport!

Hey

Did you receive this notification via mail, email or E-cas?

Thanks

I'm a bit confused on the PPR. Do we need to send in the passport copies even if we're Australian? I thought I read somewhere that visa-exempt countries don't have to send in the passport. Could have been dreaming though.

Hi Plee,

I think you're right that because you are visa exempt, sydney will request copies rather than your passport. That was my understanding.
