If that would be the case, most of the people here will be suffered as for them education and job is not in the same field. What to do in that case?

Normally if occupation is not related to education some agencies reduce 4 years of work experience to compensate that. You need to check with you assessment agency.
If you are applying as ICT business analyst 261111 then your assessment is with Australia Computer Society.

There is an option of getting assessment probably without losing those 4 years and I am not sure about this process. It is Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Have a look at this thread.

Jokes apart, thanks a lot for all your inputs in this matter, Jairichi . I will try to summarize some of the questions I have and were already asked so far

1. I see that some of the experience will be discarded if the job and education do not match (which is the case with most Indians). What exactly is the number of years or months lost for this disparity?
2. Is the ECA we have done as part of Canada PR aspiration useful at any step in Aus process?
3. I noticed we cannot enter the pool without skills assessment being complete. How long does the skills assessment take?
4. Should we get the skills assessment completed for spouce as well, to get the 5 partner points provided the other 2 factors (Age and IELTS) are checked?
5. Does a score of 65 guarantees an ITA in the immediate next round of invitation? I assume it is NOC (or profession) dependent so whats the confidence level for a software programmer or IT analyst, with a score of 65?

1. Not every assessment agencies do that. Only a few. One needs to contact their assessment agency to see the way to get a positive assessment.
2. No. You just need to send certified copies of transcripts to assessment agencies (online) for assessment and also to Australia immigration (DIBP) at the time of visa application.
3. Depends on agency. Anywhere from 2 weeks to 12 plus weeks.
4. Yes, if you want. Care must be taken that 5 points will be awarded for skills assessment only if primary and dependent occupations are in SOL or CSOL. Primary cannot be in SOL and dependent in CSOL.
5. Depends on the occupation. As there is a set number of allocated visas per year based on ANZSCO code. If you are an agricultural consultant if you get 60 points your invite will be immediate. If you are a software engineer with 65 points you might have to wait for a month or two or three. 70 means immediate grant if you are a software engineer. 65 means a wait of 2 to 3 months.

I have just few questions at this time.
When you get an Invitation to apply for visa, how can you wait before you submit your application? I am thinking of a situation where you do not have enough fund to pay for the Visa fee.
Are you expected to pay for the Visa fee immediately?
Please help with a sight where I can calculate Visa fee for my family of 5. (My spouse, 3 minor children and I)

Once you decide to move with AUS PR you need to apply to concerned assessment agency to get your education and work experience assessed. Unlike Canada you need to have education and occupation related to each other. Otherwise you lose some years of work experience to compensate for education in a different field. There are other ways around it.
Once you have decided between 189 and 190 visa you need to file an "Expression Of Interest" (EOI).
For 189 visa you have to wait for an invitation to apply for a visa and normally there are two invitation rounds every month. The duration to get an invite depends on number of persons in line (with points higher and equal) before you. Point to be noted is each occupation has been allocated a certain number of visas each year. So, if you are a software engineer and 2500 visas are allotted per year then every invitation 120 to 125 invitations will be sent based on higher points ranking.
If you are applying for a 190 visa then after generating an EOI you need to apply to states asking for sponsorship. If they sponsor you then you get 5 points. 190 visa does not go through an invitation process. Once a state sponsors then you will get an invitation to apply for visa.
After you get an invitation to apply for visa lodge your visa application, pay your fees, get your PCC and medicals done and upload all documents. Wait for visa approval.

Thank you for your kind words Foresight. I have a very good Nigerian friend who has currently lodged his 189 visa application and waiting for approval for the past 1 week.
