I received GCMS notes today (applied 12-March-2025) but at this stage they're not needed anymore as I already received P1/P2 :)

Does anyone happen to know if it’s possible to get more detailed information about Info Sharing when calling IRCC — beyond just being told it’s “in progress”?
We’ve ordered our GCMS notes (4-March-2025), but we still haven’t received them, and there’s no way to know when they’ll arrive.

When my application crossed 7 months without an update, the IRCC agent told me to contact my local MP. I wrote a detailed email along with providing consent to represent me and check my file. I got a reply about 10 days later from my MP's office. They were able to contact IRCC and get 'just a little more' information than I was able to myself, and yet recommended the same 'it's in progress, please wait'. I did receive FD a few days after that and then P1 and P2 soon after, but I don't know if going to the MP actually helped at all. In extreme cases, I'd think an MP might be able to do more, but most of our cases are not in that bucket. Delays are more systemic that before and IRCC updates their processing times accordingly. In your case, you have to take that call on whether to wait or contact your local MP and wait some more. Most of the time, time is all we need.

Thank you for your response.
Next week, if we still haven’t received the Notes, we’ll try to contact our MP.
We just want to understand whether IRCC is really still waiting for a response from other agencies regarding Info Sharing, or if the response has already been received but our application simply hasn’t been reviewed all this time.:(

Are outland applicants able to contact MP office? Or do you need a representative who is resident of Canada?
I'm afraid no. MPs serve their constituents and obviously you'd need to be living in a constituency to be able to reach out to the local representative of government. I was asked for my address before they took my case just to make sure theirs was the correct office I had reached out to. Outland candidates would be better served by authorized immigrations lawyers or consultants.

My situation is very similar to you AOR 2024 July. GC Notes I haven't gotten a reply for almost 40 days. What's going on?

Last week, I emailed ATIP-AIPRP@cic.gc.ca about the delay with my GCMS notes. Today, they replied saying they’re working on my request and will try to send the notes as soon as possible.
Still waiting for now — I can let you know once I receive them, just to give you an idea of the current timelines.

We received our GCMS Notes (waited 44 days).
We submitted the request on March 4.
The information in the Notes is as of March 7.
On April 9, we emailed ATIP to ask about the delay.
On April 15, we received a reply saying they would send the notes ASAP.
On April 18, we finally received them.

From the Notes:
All info sharing data was received back in December 2024.
On January 30, the officer made a note: “Info sharing: Complete, no apparent concerns.”
However, they did not mark the Info Sharing assessment as Passed in the tracker.
Also on January 30, the officer wrote: “Security: Referred.”

Since then, there’s been no movement on the file.
As far as I understand, the application was referred to the stage where they decide whether to do a regular or comprehensive security screening. But because Info Sharing is still marked as In Progress in the system, it’s possible they are waiting for it to show Passed before proceeding.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

I'm in the same situation. My last update was on December 4, 2024, and there’s been nothing since—despite multiple follow-up calls. I didn’t receive an ADR, but I still submitted a webform with my education credentials just in case. It's been over a week now, and there’s been no change on the tracker or in my profile. At this point, it’s hard to tell how much longer it’ll take for them to process our files.

What to say, these guys don't want to work at all. Working on new applications, neglecting old ones.
