Hey there, hope every one is doing well.

CEC Inland (PVO Etobicoke, SVO Vancouver)
14th of August - AOR
11th of February - Eligibility passed
Since then - Background check security step ongoing

Does someone know how long it took for them to get the security check marked pass and receive FD?
Have all the other stages in your background check passed?
Unfortunately, the security stage can take as long as it takes.
I know someone whose entire background check was completed in a week, and others who have been waiting for several months :(
Did you order your GCMS notes?

I have a similar-ish timeline - AOR is July 9, stuck in BG check since October (security not started since... ).
PVO and SVO are the same. CEC inland as well.
Have you ordered GCMS notes? which step of the background check are you on?

Interesting that you passed Eligibility... mine hasn't started, some people say that it's the last step for inland application but maybe not!

Yep everything seems to be passed. Ah the mysterious ways of IRCC...

I ordered my notes end of January and received them end of February (they didn't really say anything more). If no update by the end of April I might order one more time, just to make sure that the security step has indeed started (this is an info I received from an agent on the phone and sometimes I receive very different information so we never know!=

Thats rough. I was in the same situation, my medical was updated on the 19th of October and after that crickets. Around that time my case was moved to Etobicoke so it sat untouched all these months (as the notes showed).

Basically end of January I applied for my BOWP, asked for notes and called IRCC. I don't know if any of these moved my file forward but I finally had an update in February.

Here is what happened during the call : I asked what had been done on my file until now. Was told that criminality had passed in 2024. Asked if eligibility truly was not started since tracker showed not started but GCKey said under review. Agent on the phone said it was strange because eligibility had indeed started. And then Ghost Update on the 4th of February, Eligibility in progress on the 6th and passed on the 11th. Now in the tracker it says passed, in GC key it still says under review.

Right when my eligibility passed I received an update saying my background was in progress and I got hit with ADRs. Then they said they had received them but I hadn't even sent anything yet.

I called twice again mid-march. One agent said my security had started, that it can only start once eligibility is passed and that there was no way to know when it would be done. Another agent said there was no way of knowing if my security had actually started. But this last agent was specially unhelpful so I don't know who to believe or if it even matters at this point!

Unfortunately for me, eligibility has definitely not started... but apparently it's one after the other, so it wouldn't start for me till BG check is done. I guess for you it went the other way around: eligibility then BG check.
Hope your security step is underway! keep us updated here, I'll do the same

That is insane, I know what Etobicoke and Vancouver can be slower, but your AOR is in July and the eligibility is not even started, that is unacceptable. Did you order the GCMS note to confirm that the eligibility is indeed not started?

Yep... ordered them twice, eligibility is definitely not started... and apparently that means i won't get my BOWP since eligibility needs to be passed for that and I'm stuck in BG check. At some point I'm just gonna give up and head back home... maintained status is too uncomfortable

Your gcms notes showed eligibility not started, and there is no notes regarding your eligibility? Like how they calculate your CRS, whether it is review required or recommend pass?

BTW you don’t have to pass eligibility to be eligible for BOWP, as long as you passed R10, you are good.

GCMS notes says:
- Eligibility: not started
- Security: not started
- Criminality: passed
- Medical: passed
- Info Sharing: complete

In the notes section:
- weirdly "MIN SCORE" and "CRS SCORE" are blank
- under Police certificate, it says that my police certificates were "Provided-NRT"
- "R10 OK"
- "Recommendation: Passed Criminality - pending biometrics RCMP results" (criminality was passed a month later)

Regarding the BOWP, I thought the same thing!! But then the person at the IRCC call center was like "don't get your hopes up, you need to pass eligibility first to get it" so I'm super confused

Call centre operators always tell negative things only. Donno what makes them happy with that.
