Yeah it depends. IRCC flip flops all the time. Sometimes they're fast sometimes they're slow. Sometimes they process online applications faster and other times paper. Can't really tell but right now they're processing paper faster so whoever applied by paper in the last 6 months got lucky. Also it depends on a case by case basis and how simple/complex your application is. You can reach to officers but you have to keep trying but anyways they aren't being very helpful they can't answer general questions they'll always guide you to the website because they are focusing on the situation in Ukraine now (used to be Afghanistan and COVID-19 earlier)
When we call IRCC, we get to speak with IRCC customer service Agent or Immigration Services Agents. They do NOT process applications and they cannot speed up the process of any application. They have access to general information based on the progress of our files. Our applications/files are processed by IMMIGRATION OFFICERS who are distinctively different from front line IRCC Customer Service Agents. In all, it’s pretty much pointless to call IRCC because all we get is general info that we already have access to in online portal. No further details or in-depth info. To get detailed overview of one’s application progress, one should order/request NOTES. To be honest, the lack of transparency from IRCC is what makes us ANXIOUS at times. We can never get the answers to our questions whenever we reach out to them…so many senseless barriers between us and them.

My wife revived GCMS notes today(notes were applied on 24 Jan 2022). It says secondary office is Scarborough
Criminality is in progress
Activity also mentions RCMP fingerprint required but still have not received any email or an update on the application tracker

Hope you get an email soon and it gets cleared.
So the GCMS notes are on the online site where we get our status completed for each section ?

my exam has been finally updated on my portal. does anyone know how long it takes for the next steps, ie. ceremony, oath etc? im particularly curious on why it take so long to update the language, phyiscal requirements & prohibition tracker since they're literally IELTS results (whcih we provided), and passport stamp records (if we ever left the country). not sure how prohibitions are different from background chekcs, if anyone can explain or ascertain, thanks.

Congrats.

If you are lucky you might get oath invite within a month or can even stretch for 9 months like my wife's case.
