Today's the 1-year anniversary of when I applied. Radio silence from IRCC since May, despite my sending them an e-mail, a webform, and requesting GCMS notes. I followed up with ATIP because I haven't received the notes and it's been more than a month. Got an automatic e-mail blaming COVID for their delays. I'm about to contact my MP today to see if I can get some answers.

Does contacting the MP help? I assumed they give out the normal answer that "Application is still under the normal 26 months of processing time"

What is your processing office? Simultaneously comforting and disturbing to see that I'm not the only one waiting forever to get oath invite after everything else has been completed.

Hi all,

I found my application has been significantly delayed than others. I am an end of August 2021 online applicant, single and met all the requirements. The last time I heard from IRCC was to receive my tracking number in November 2021. Nothing since then. No test invite, or any communication about my application. On my profile, it says "In process".

I'm getting nervous about this. The only reason I can think of is that I left Canada shortly after I submitted my application and have been living abroad ever since. However, I did read that waiting outside of Canada should not affect the application process.

Is there anyone experiencing a similar situation? Please advise. Thank you in advance!

Although officially they say that you are allowed to leave Canada after applying, in practice, applications of those who are known or perceived by IRCC to be living abroad tend to be delayed. But you should try sending webforms, call, and order GCMS notes to get a better idea of what is going on with your application.

Interesting. I do travel frequently and was recently in South America for 5 weeks. I wonder if this played a part in the delay.

I haven't received any email, but my online application tracker has been updated with following message and other changes together,
" Congratulations! You've been scheduled to attend your citizenship ceremony on August 17, 2022. Follow the instructions you will receive in your ceremony invitation. "
Participated in Virtual Oath ceremony on 17th August, Scarborough office. Citizenship certificate received Today 22AUG22.
