Called IRCC on Oct 7th and the agent told me my eligibility status, amongst other things. I asked about my VO and she said “from what I can see on my screen here, it says Accra”. Webform I raised a few days before I called IRCC, came back days after I made that call and it also said my file is now with Accra VO. The agent at IRCC also told me to contact Accra for anything from then on, only after the average processing time has elapsed.
Hi!
What was your eligibility, security and criminality status?

Hello everyone, Have a situation out here. @legalfalcon would be glad if u could help.
Entered Pool- 28th Mar, ITA- 5th Aug, AOR- 8th Aug- PNP outland-Ontario

I am going to get married 27th of this month (almost half way through my application), to a person who already has a Canadian PR. I will inform IRCC via webform once I get my marriage certificate. please let me know if my points will be recalculated or will I be asked to apply via spousal PR route or any other things I maybe missing on this angle. Thanks in advance for your help.

If your spouse is already a PR or a citizen, it has no impact on the processing of your current PR application application. Also you do not have to apply for a spousal sponsorship. You can continue with your application as is as it will be much faster than spousal sponsorship, which you can if you wish. But spousal sponsorship takes 12 months to be processed.

However, if your spouse is not a PR or citizen then how adding a family member will impact the application will depend on when you add the family member:

Pre-ITA

If you have not yet received an invitation to apply, you can amend the application online. However, be advised that upon adding a spouse to the application may change your Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score and the applicant will need to show a higher proof of funds. Further, if points for the education, work experience, and language scores of the spouse are claimed, the applicant will have to upload documents to corroborate it. When the application is processed, the completeness check and the eligibility check will be done for all the family members of the applicant named on the file.

Post-e-APR

If the family composition changes after the e-APR has been submitted, the family member added is not subject to eligibility assessment. However, the family member will have to be assessed for medical, criminal and security. All family members must be examined as part of the e-APR, whether they are accompanying the principal applicant or not. Family members can be added to the application at any time during the process, including after the visa is issued, but prior to obtaining permanent resident status. Applicants are instructed to inform IRCC immediately if their family composition has changed (e.g., birth of a child, marriage, divorce).

Guys any idea how IRCC check POF. Do they validate based on the bank letter we provide or they actually check our bank balance?

No one knows really. I doubt they contact banks tho. They could just ask the applicant for an updated statement as at that date via ADR, if they want to verify it.

Just received an update from IRCC... and it appears my eligibility verification is currently valid (does it mean a pass?)/criminal and background check are still in progress/CPC: Ottawa.

Does it imply PPR will be issued once my criminal background and background verifications updated to currently valid?

What Does your background check status on your cic show? “In progress” or “we are processing”?

Discovered recently that your BG check could remain as “we are processing....” from AOR to PPR. Someone with July 2020 AOR had his application like that, no BG check change and he got his PPR in October. Could be that they didn’t make back-end updates or something. So sometimes, not having a change to “in progress” at all could mean nothing.

Yeah i heard so as well but majority of those who have been getting ppr on here followed the ip1 and ip2 process. So i just assumed that the BG check not changing rarely happens.

Hey guys,

Just got a response for a web form enquiry. Here are the information I got:

The eligibility verifications are currently valid.
The security background verification has not been initiated.
The criminal background verification is in process.

Please can someone tell me what it means that eligibility verifications are currently valid? Does it mean passed?
Also, how long does it take to have both criminal background and security background completed?
My aor is August 28. Thanks as I await your response.

I believe so, yes, eligibility seems passed. Nobody can really predict how long for the other two, but shouldn't be very long. For some, it can take a few days, for others it can take several weeks.

Mine is similar to yours. I’m August 27 AOR. Eligibility is passed and security began yesterday, assuming from my BG check status change.
