Hi @legalfalcon , I managed to called the IRCC call centre and was informed by the agent that my application had been transferred to the Singapore (local) Visa Office. And thus, he could not provide me any useful information.
In this case, do I need to contact the local VO instead? Does this also mean that my application was still in a good progress?

I have good news. IP2 (background check) has officially started for my application. I saw a ghost update when I logged in and the background check message had been changed to "We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information."

Wow. So happy for you! Told you not to worry because your application was moving fast regardless.

That's wonderful! I know you were worried about the IRCC agent not being able to provide much info. Progress is good!

The BGC status will change twice. Once early in the process and then it will revert back to not applicable and then later when the security starts.

@legalfalcon Thank you so much for helping people on this forum. Your insights are invaluable. I am super curious about this one thing that I see in the "application stages" posts: "If you have an AOR of 31 Dec 2018 or later, follow the chart below to track your progress. Candidates will remain in a state of 'False IP2' throughout their application and only see a series of 'ghost updates' following their MEP" (Example post: https://www.canadavisa.com/canada-i...mep-ip1-ip2-ghost-update-version-2019.612656/)
My application status follows this bold sentence above. I have a false IP2 from the start. Yet, most people on this forum see their BGC status change twice as you have said—both outland and inland. So is there a certain type of applications that for some reason always have a false IP2 with zero changes to the BGC throughout?

same for my application status since AoR has been "we are processing.", people say it's supposed to change to "your application is in progress" then back to "we are processing."
Mine still at the false ip2, never had any ghost updates.
Aor 11th August
BIL/MEP 27th August

My experience with ADR is that IRCC took some time to review my additional document. I nominated my partner to be the representative, so IRCC request for the IMM 5XXX to be submitted as an additional document. I submitted on 19 Aug 2020.
IP1 only started after IRCC has completed reviewing my additional document, which happened on 10 Sep 2020 (around 22-23 days after the submission of the document).
