Got RPRF letter to pay $500 fees, it says " This is a reference to your application for permanent resident visa. The eligibility review is currently in process; you will be contacted if additional information is required for that purpose"

And then it says I have 7 days to pay it.

Was so excited but then I read it online that a lot of people got it and are waiting for like 3 -4 months :(

anyone else in the same boat and knows how long it takes after this ?
AOR- 11 aug, CEC applicant in lower mainland BC

Also, I called them a few days ago and they said that my eligibility did not start and my background is in process, no info what step they are at for background for 2 months now.

Hi @legalfalcon - need your expertise :)

I applied for EE AOR 10 August. I am inland, with my spouse as dependent outland.
With current travel restrictions, after our application gets processed - will my spouse be able to come to Canada?

I believe although all COPR holders after 18th March are not allowed to travel but spouses are an exception? Is this correct?

YEs, and your spouse can travel now too if IRCC issues an authorisation letter.

Immediate family members of temporary residents in Canada can obtain an authorisation letter to travel to Canada.

Glad to see this! Because, for most of the CEC Aug AORs (specifically Ottawa VO), I assume they haven't started the eligibility. Now having some hopes.

I received my GCMS notes on January 4th stating the eligibility was not started (The assistant reviewed documents and recommended to pass criminality. At that time, the application wasn't touched since November.) I really do hope it started to move at least a little bit.

Called them yesterday and I have the same AOR and statuses. Security seems to be a bottleneck

Security won't start until Eligibility is conclusively passed. So it isn't a bottleneck, it requires a senior officer to actually Pass Eligibility before it can begin. recommended Pass is not conclusively passed.
Ah okay - thanks for the insight @EscoBlades . So when eligibility changes from 'recommended pass' to 'conclusively passed' then security begins and on an average it takes 110 days to complete - long way to go then?

Also, after you have conclusively passed the eligibility, would the online status change to 'passed' OR does it remain "We are reviewing whether you meet the eligibility requirements" till the end?

What are the next steps after getting COPR?..Do they ask to submit passport for in Canada applicants?
How much time does it take to get PR card in hand after COPR?
You do not need to submit passport. You got to send(mail) latest passport photo along with COPR letter to get PR card. I heard it is taking long time to get PR card.

After conclusively passing Eligibility (it will change to Passed in your GCMS notes), your online status won't actually change. Hence why it is always better to either call IRCC or request GCMS/ CBSA notes to get an accurate snapshot of your application in real time, or as close to real time as possible.

Security take on average 110 days based on previous data. The actual amount of time varies on a number of factors. There are people on the forum who have cleared Security in as little as a day. Some have taken weeks. For some, they get put into Enhanced Security. Each application is unique.
