Hello,

I am a Canadian citizen who passed an application for spousal sponsorship last August 2019. My husband, a Congolese did his biometrics and medical exam on October 2019, and he passed. Since then we’ve been waiting for the updates.

We understand the delays because of Covid situation. What we are worried is that we have a Canadian friend who also sponsored her husband just this January 2020, and her Congolese husband is now on the passport stage. We were early to pass than them, but ours is not moving forward. IRCC said they’re processing application chronologically the dates they received it, but ours is earlier with no news yet.

Whom should we asked for help regarding this situation? Hoping to here some tips or any help from you. Thank you.

Sincerely,
Christine

Contact IRCC and keep notes.

Contact your MP's office to ask for assistance as well over a year.

Order your GCMS notes to try to get info on when/why/where it is stuck.

I tweet IRCC about Applicants from June, July and Aug-2019 waiting Decision while IRCC finalize cases received in Jan-March, 2020 from same Regional Visa Office? Doesn’t Covid19 effect those cases received in 2020? So far no respond from IRCC

I've been asking the same thing every day. They have no empathy left for us (pending 2019 applicants)

That’s also our concern. Those applications passed this year were processed earlier than those passed last year. The regional offices were affected, but their processing is not “chronologically done” as they say

That’s the issue. They said it’s because of Covid, but they are finalizing applications that was passed this year. But how about the applications last year? They said they’re doing it chronologically, but ours was last year and my friend’s just this year. It’s unfair.
