Status= Decision Made.

Anyone from ottawa, received certificate in Nov or Dec?
Status = complete meaning what?
I guess there may be something more to this. It seems only specific Ottawa candidates are being delayed for their certificates. Some Ottawa candidates whose oath happened in December have also their status changed to complete i.e their certificate has been mailed. That make me believe if they are doing validation or scrutizing some applications even after their oath has been completed. It may be illegal but anything is possible as I can't find any other logical reason. Why would printing department hold few applications and do it for others who did their oath one and half month after us.

How can we know that, what kind of validation they are doing after oath?

I am guessing it, I may be wrong. It seems customer care officers don't have full visibility into what's happening in backend. They just say that it's in queue for printing. I called MP office twice and have left a voice mail. I hope MP can help us getting the actual status.

No offense to @ottawaapp but Ottawaapp did oath on 1st December and status changed to complete after one week, which means certificate has been printed and mailed. Why would candidates like us, who did oath in October are still waiting and status hasn't changed to complete? If our certificates are in queue, then why new ones have been printed and old ones are still not done. There may be some other queue, which we don't have visibility into.

You are right, there is some thing which we don't know. also maybe we have same officer and our certificate required (approve button) from officer who is on leave... because when I called IRCC they told me, that Ottawa office working with very less staff.

There were so many candidates from Ottawa taking oath in October but not many of them would be on this forum. I would like to see if we both are the only ones in this awkward situation or there are others as well. I don't see any one else on this forum reporting similar issue.

Just a wild guess. The files might have been forwarded to different locations to print the certificates. There might be a location where every application is delayed due to various reasons. I know someone who took oath in August received the certificate in October.

Hope what you are saying is true and there is no other reason.

Some update for me : I received the test invite on December 18th, and passed it today, December 28th. My application had been sent on August 11th 2019, if an admin can update the spreadsheet, thank you! :)

I am Aug 2019 applicant done my test and passed in January 2020 and till today it is IN process waiting for Oath. I would like to communicate with the IRCC through web form saying that to hold my application until everything goes normal because if I take the Oath now I have to wait for Citizenship Certificate for months and then wait few months for Canadian Passport because Service Canada not working. Will it be good or not your suggestions on this will be highly appreciated. Actually I am not in a hurry to take the Citizenship and if I withdrew my application I need to apply later by paying the fees.

Wow this is so pessimistic!

First, if your case is in process, I think you're far from being invited to the ceremony, you have to switch to "decision made", and then wait a few more months. Secondly, your numbers are wrong, people who recently became citizens got their certificates in 3-4 weeks only, and in case you need to travel, you can still ask for an emergency passport. And if you don't plan to travel in 2021, then what's the point?

It's better to become a citizen asap, than to have to renew your expired PR card...

In my case, I know I won't travel abroad in 2021 because that covid situation will probably mess everything up until September or October... So it won't be a big deal for me if I have no PR card and no canadian passport for 2 or 3 months :)

Thank you Isa78 for your suggestion but I belong to a Country where dual citizenship is not allowed and for your kind information I already renewed my PR Card and it valid upto 2025.

Ok I understand that if your PR card is valid until 2025, you're not in a hurry to obtain your citizenship. But I don't get your point about dual citizenship, wouldn't you prefer being a Canadian than a citizen of the country you were born in? Looks like you don't wanna lose your current citizenship, am I right?

Yes you are absolutely right Isa78 I don't want to loose current citizenship because I have many properties there.
