Beyond the question of why Montreal is so slow compared to Alberta or Ontario, why some people's processes are so fast and others so slow (even taking into consideration FP Requests and Urgent Processing Requests). Would anybody know or guess?
I think it depends on the application. I’m an August applicant and my September applicant friend wrote the test the same day as me feb 19. And a week later got the oath letter for march 20 while my status still show decision made . I guess some people are really lucky

Or maybe he has a minority nationality ? Oath ceremonies have to have a good mix of different nationalities!

Dear All,
I am writing this as I am quite concerned on my family Citizenship application
Background - I had applied (as an individual) for Canadian Citizenship back in 2011 and my application in spite of providing huge documentation as asked by RQ was considered abandoned in 2015.

Long story short, I now have re-applied along with my family of 3
On August 25 2019 (after almost 5 years)
Delivered End of August 2019,
In process- Nov 10 2019.
Days: Spouses – 1200 & 1445 and daughter - 1180

Now that I have re-applied along with family after a gap of 05 years, whether the previous application which was considered abandoned by CIC will have any effect on my new family Citizenship application.

Much appreciate any ideas from all folks from this forum that may make a difference to our lives. Th…..

I'm also in Montreal, and still didn't receive the invite.
Does the invite show on the "Client Application Status", or you only receive an email?

I wonder if the current situation with COVID-19 will impact the process (not that they don't want to give ou citizenship, but that they will pull resources to focus on the crisis, which will slow the process)

Yes COVID-19 will very soon affect the Oath ceremonies the same way it is going to affect March break and the rest of the economy. Watch for the upcoming announcement before the break next week and you will have an idea of the impact.

While I was hoping for an Oath ceremony invite in March, my best guesstimate is now set for June 2020.

Do you know something that others don't or those are assumptions?

Although I am not sure about the dates, the virus will slow things down.

almost everyone in Ottawa got their DM after 1 week of writing test, I am still waiting and my file still shows "In Process"

Weird CIC, the invitation letter didn't come until after a week, however, put a call through on March 4th and was told test date has been fixed.

Outcome from the meetings between governments earlier this week - you should see by now the kind of announcements which will continue to be adjusted as the situation evolves.

Hey, for the Test Invitation Letter , did you get it via mail or Email?
I keep checking both everything but nothing...
When they send the invite, can you see it on the "Client Application Status"?

Thank you!

I was mostly a lurker of this forum, but man, it has been such a great help.

I applied in August with the following timeline:

Married
Scarborough
Physical Presence: 1435 days
Application sent: August 01, 2019
Application Delivered: August 07, 2019
AOR: Oct 31, 2019
In Process: Nov 30, 2019
Test Invitation Letter: Feb 14, 2020
Test Date: March 11, 2020
After the test which was pretty easy (I would dare to say 15 questions are of common sense) we had the interview and we have been invited for 12 (today) of March to attend the ceremony. I can confirm that for Scarborough location there were multiple candidates who were invited on 11 and attended on 12.
It's a blessing being now being a citizen of one of the greatest country in the world. I wish all good luck on their applications.
