Many in this forum have experience this especially from Scarborough CPC. It all depends on whether all your processes (residency, knowledge, criminality, security, etc) in your application have been completed.

So if your Status is Decision Made and still waiting on Oath Invite, then is it safe to assume that a process is still ongoing?

Hi In my case on 5th February, 2020 at the time of interview immigration officer told me that your citizenship is approved. As per him my one year from date of submission of application i.e. 8 feb 2019 is short by 3 days, therefore, I will be getting oath invitation between 2 weeks to 8 weeks. but on the contrary many forum members have becoming Canadian citizen within 8 to 12 months from the date of receiving their application at Sydney. There may be some other criteria with which Citizenship is being granted to we people. We have no other alternate then to wait.

Great. where was your ceremony and how many participants were in oath ceremony. Mr Prime Minister was chief guest? Pl share

What’s going on with Scarborough? All of the sudden they are inviting people to oath ceremonies the day after their tests while others have had DM for months. Some of these lucky people even applied in October!

I wrote the citizenship test last week (Feb 25-26) and I passed, but the officer interviewed me wasn't sure if I had enough stay in Canada (which I know I do) he said he will confirm it at a later time. The reason he was not sure because I went to US twice.

My status hasn't changed and it doesn't even mention I had a test. it still says "we sent you a book/discover Canada".

Question, If I left Canada on March 1 at 2:00 pm for USA and then returned Canada at 4:00 pm on March 5, how many days I am out of Canada? is it 5 or 3? I calculated that as 3

3 days. But it could be that your gave yourself only a few days buffer above the minimum 1095 days. That could be a reason for the officer to validate your entries & exits. My family also has the same issue, we travel very often to the states, sometimes same day or next day returns. I am sure we will face the same issue with the officer. We have given ourselves only 10 days buffer. I am planning to apply for an FOIA report for the US travels.

I only have 1 day extra so 1096 days (went to USA twice and once in China), it is stressing me now

Also that how some people are getting the Oath request within few days and some are getting after few months.

Anyone from Ottawa know how long they are waiting on average after writing the test?

Calculator says 3 days but you should have at least 5 to 10 days buffer when you are travelling to US.

Please be proactive as much as possible. I wish you all the best for your oath letter
