i know right, they make the easiest things damn near impossible and the hard things oversimplified!

All they needed to do was provide a PDF attachment of Annex A. I am shocked honestly...its formatting 101 that you never have an official document sent in the body of an email if it is meant to be printed out. Too many variables between email clients + browsers/computers.

e-x-a-c-t-l-y

the low techness of govt online stuff is appalling to me, investing resources there would save money and hassle for us and them

I use gmail and yeah, the annex A is cut off! I didn't realize it until I clicked it to see the entire message that the form is longer than that. lol
Agree, they could have used pdf attachment instead!

Thanks! Can you keep us updated with yours and let us know if you had any issues. I'm not quite at that step yet, just wanted to be prepared!

I will!

I'm familiar with the clipping of messages. What surprised me was it shows up on my mobile phone but NOT my desktop. So on a computer there was no note the message was clipped, yet the form is clearly missing. I had to do the print preview to get the full form.

my gmail doesn't give me a clipped option -- but it's forwarded from my hubbie's gmail, so maybe because of that? I'm having him re-email to my non-gmail. I'll update if that works...

I tried looking on my phone after you said that, but on my android I don't get the clipped option either! wah wah wah

I just tried to forward it from my gmail to my other gmail (work), I can see the whole message and the whole form without it being clipped.

1) It lists it right there in the email:

CPC – Ottawa – PR
365 Laurier Avenue West
Ottawa ON K1A 1L1

2) Usually in a few days from what I've seen.

I'm actually not going to call. It seems they need it for the PR card so I'll just send in new photos >:(

Also, for those having trouble reading the email, use the print feature of your email client. Mine had trouble formatting it but once it printed it out it looked normal. (Or use a PDF printer)

Did they request passport from you? By the way, did the email state that if you mail to Ontario CIC, you must include Xpresspost (prepaid envelope?

Hello Everyone!

It's been a while since I last posted. Had a great Christmas with the wife's family.

Updates: My original Visitor Record was going to run out on Jan 24, so I applied for an extension online. It took 34 days to get it approved. I asked for 18 months, but only received a year. Oh well.

Friday, I received an email saying I had updates on MyCIC. My "Background Check" has now gone to "In Process". Given the timing everyone else seems to have, I'm thinking that DM and the new passport copy and photo request is coming soon! I'm about 2 weeks later in the process than Steven and some of the other US folks.

Here's hoping?? ;D

I think you and I had our background checks start the same day, since MyCIC usually takes about 24 hours to kick out an email about an update. Mine started last Thursday. I never actually got an update e-mail, I just happened to catch it very shortly after it changed.

It's been 2 weeks and I haven't gotten an email update regarding the DM moving to "in process" either.
Nice to know I am not alone. :)

I am getting worry. I have DM in ECAS since 13 January, however, as of today no correspondence from IRCC and MyCIC still shows Background Check in progress.

The email said if I had a passport from a country that required a Visa I had to mail the passport but if I had a passport from an eTA country or the United States I had to mail in a photocopy of my passport and 2 passport photos (and a prepaid envelope). The email said that if I want the COPR mailed in Canada I must include an Xpresspost prepaid envelope and if I wanted it mailed to the USA I need to include a prepaid envelope from a courier that delivers between Canada and the USA (after doing some research I went with FedEx as it was cheaper and most reliable from what I read but UPS and DHL also work).

I didn't get an e-mail either. I just noticed my background check changed because I check the status online about a million times a day haha.

MyCIC still hasn't updated (shows in-process for background check) despite ECAS DM and receiving an email. It's possible they are sending the emails in batches so you maybe you will get it next week or so? The other thing is, have you or your spouse checked their spam folder? Lastly, I would recommend calling them. I have read online in the past (it is rare but happened every now and then) that someone didn't receive an email and yet was told the email was sent. You probably can't go wrong mailing in your passport and/or your passport photo if you are from a visa-exempt country + 2 passport photos + the Annex A I posted here in the thread + a pre-paid envelope with your mailing address on it. This is probably what they will tell you over the phone if you indeed didn't get the email but were supposed to.
